re: Am i too aggressive? poker I fail to see how this is an example of being too aggressive and losing value. You checked with AA, I find that a little strange given the title of the post, then you reraise preflop and bet too little on the flop then reraise huge. Maybe another example would be helpful.

rather be aggressive and take down a smaller pot than slowplay a set and run into a flush or straith, happened so many times to me that i just dont slowplay too much anymore, unless its a board with no draws and i have a monster. pocket AA i would have done the same. as for the straith flush draw, why would you even ask if you should fold or not? even if one of them has 1010 you still have 42% chance to win on the flop.

I don't see anything wrong with that play, with flush and possible backdoor str8 draws on the board. You made over +13 bb with a pair of AA....that's fine. Quote:

re: Am i too aggressive? poker Other than limping pf in the second hand, I think you played both fine. One cool thing about being agg, if you're worried about not getting sufficient value - eventually your opponents start disbelieving you when you win several pots without getting to showdown, so you get called down lighter than you would otherwise. It'll make up for the "lost" value in not slowplaying...

all though we have all lost in every way that one can lose. one of my first lessons was learning how to play aces understanding each situation is different. but pushing all in (preflop) and just winning blinds to me isnt a good play. betting to small allows people to bust aces seen it many times. i agree jamesjr21 tight agressive has made me money. so has changing your play at a moments notice to to keep the smart players from reading how u r playing.. we could talk about how to play aces for the situation all night
