haven't read all the posts in this thread...But

IMO - If you have nothing in the tournament (freeroll with little payout if any) it is not so simple. I am not saying go allin with 9,5. There are only a few legit reasons to go allin and some of the hands that are called early (and throughout for that matter) are outright crazy. BUT lets say you have 10,K suited. A good hand, but not worth a huge bet early in the tourney...or is it? In a freeroll that is going to last hours, sometimes you figure risk versus reward. It is Rare - But I have gone all-in before with similar cards. Reasoning: I can limp along for an hours in a 10,000 person tourney or I have a shot to go up early. A good number of the allin calls early in these tourneys are BS as u suggested. So with a decent hand (at least see some paint) you can start the tourney with a good stack and position yourself well for the rest of the show. If the tourney did not cost you anything and the rewards are low - why not take a shot.

This should by no means become tactic that is used often and I would never have the balls to do it in a cash tourney. But if it was a large freeroll that u entered to kill some time and u are not overly attached...Columbus took a chance. Plus sometimes boredom overrules logic.

Point worthy of recognition - Ammenment to my post above -

I agree that I would not do it if it was going to be reflected in the rankings at Cards Chat.

all in, all in, all in, all in, ... you mean i'm actually suposed to look at my cards in this game ? wow that is an interesting concept. It does really get old and frustraiting to see this happen all the time. I guess this is the new age of online poker (about 13 yrs old and loving to frustrait other people)

I understand why people go all-in early, (to build a stack) and believe you just need to be patient and then call when you start with a high pair. You are still risking exiting early, but least ways the odds are more favorable.

I find that the larger the free roll the more all ins you will see. Ultimatebet's hourly freerolls with 5000 players are notorious for it. I would prefer to see them limit the number of players, and shorten the registration time!

My question is simple. As a new player, what is the lowest hand status that someome should call those all ins with? Any advice will be appreciated.

Yea, all those games people will do things like that for a quick fix lead on everyone. I tend to play the hands I norm would regardless of the donk fest. If I have a monster pocket pair, I DEF will call.

It's a good way to get chips early if u get lucky but the problem is those players can't adjust. Eventually their luck runs out and they spew all those chips short of the money.

I am getting ready to participate in a test strategy for the all in theory. This is not a fly by night deal, I just printed out 33 pages they want me to stick to while playing Micro Games. I will let you know how it goes. Lol maybe there is a future in all in.

Man, its very true !!!
In freerolls and some qualify...
I have used always the same tatic and that has worked... be sitting out the firts 10min.. LOL !!! Many here will adivice you to not do it..
But man, I already have folded, called and so on.. sometimes this guys doing all-in are so lucky that you will have wish to be sitting out...

As the table evolve things come to normal and you can play hard again

keep going..

I have to say the all ins are very annoying, and I've done well sitting out the first few hands too, I've never even regretted the hands that I've ended up folding.

Allin

Cheap and free tourneys always attract the crash and burn early type of player, as do rebuy tourneys. Try and have patience and wait their weeding out. The play will settle down eventually. Then again if you have Aces and feel good about them, push. Know it's a definite gamble, as always.
Peace,
FlowJoe
