all in?
hi have been playing hold em for a while and y i understand all in bets..seem people have gone all in against me and i have better hand but thety still win some.wat u advise

All in
I have found that you can go all in with any 2 cards and win, but other cards have a higher chance of winning the hand, its a hard decision to go all in with 3 6 offsuit but sometimes u can catch that strait!

If you are going allin with the best hand, than you are playing good poker. Even if you take a Bad beat, don'tlet it bother you.
If you are taking Bad beats a lot more often than giving out a bad beat, you are playing good poker. |

I suspect we're just trying to pull our 15 posts here, but if you seriously need to ask a broad question like 'when should I go all-in?', here's some advice. Invest in some sound poker books from proven winners like Doyle Brunson, David Sklansky, Phil Helmuth, Phil Gordon, Tom McEvoy, etc. The internet is also full of poker sites which offer basic strategy for beginners. Unless I HAVE TO I never put all my chips in the middle of the table, I really dont want to risk my future in the game unless im short stacked or have AA, even then i dont really like it.
For example last night in 4th place in a tourney v v v short stacked and ended up 2nd because i resisted the temptation. |

the all-in can be a very very influental move if made at the right time. if you suspect weakness by your opponent, try and get it all in to push him out. if you hold the nuts try and get it all-in with a call. preflop all-ins can be very dangerous because of the fact that your hand could flop but it could also come up blanks for you with a monster for him even if you had the big lead.

All-in can be extremely effective so I wouldnt dismiss it completely. Of course there are times when you have to take it slow to get in the money etc but dont be scared to go for it when you have a good hand. If you are folding good hands cos you are worried about your opponent then you wont be that succesful and you will look weak.

if u have kk aa qq or ak call it you truly hav good cards and good odds but say if you have 10,10 and someone goes all in especially if they went all in in an early position think about folding

Never go all in if you DON'T want more cards to come out against your hand. Go all in if you definitely have the nutz. Fold if there is a chance showing on the board that you will lose all your chips. You've got to weigh your situation - there's no set rule for going all-in.

this is my theory about all ins. if someone bets all in its because they have the best hand on the board i dont like to chase a flush or even worse a straight when im all in that is a fools game and it is not a part of my strategy anymore. ive learned the hard way!!....large reraises lead to all in bets so bet small and stay in the game.. all in only when u can back it up and let the fools take what they can......they wont be there long anyway.....bad beats are part of the game, folding good cards doesnt cost much if you dont call the big reraises.......aces for everyone and gl
