AK in LPG vs 4 calling stations How do i get the most value for AK when i am in early pos in an LPG with 4 others in the pot and king hits flop with 2 suited cards. There is almost always showdown and someone regularly draws out so do I bet until they hit knowing that everyone will call or do bet less than i usually would or not at all?????/ ![]()

I would say that with AK, it's best to bet, especially if you are 4 or 5 handed. If you don't bet, the calling stations will check it round, so if you have a winner, you're gonna get paid off a lot less. Calling stations are usually quite loose, so just keep up a Tight/Agressive image, and play your monster hands very aggressively, if they call as you say they will, lots of big pots coming your way. Also, do you raise Pre-Flop? and if you do, how much?

In early position (1st in) With A-K, a pot bet is 2 1/2 blinds. If you get 4 callers, there's 10 blinds in the pot. This is ok later in a tournry, but if the blinds are low you might want to raise 3 or 4 x, just to try and narrow the field. If you hit your K you've got to pot bet. if they call that, only drop to a lower bet, if the flush card comes. And there will still be some that for some reason will still be calling for a river card to make a gut shot straight, with 3 suited on the board. The best consolation is that if you stick to your game, the odds are in your favor.

re: AK in LPG vs 4 calling stations poker Bet it out and only slow down if you see a flush or straight draw show up. Try to keep the pot odds high enough that they are making a mistake chasing their draw and over time you'll come out on top.

I would raise a set smaller than this personally. The two guys left are running 69/11 43/4, and are shorties, I really don't care about them. Hopefully they'll add to the pot drawing almost dead. There are many non 12+ flush draws out there. In fact any AhXh not Q or J is drawing 9 outs exaclty, and that assumes none of the other two have hearts as well. With this much action, I can't say he must have me beat I have to fold. The fact that two others are in the hand make me want to call this more NOT less, especially who they are. If this was heads up, I bet he shoves, I may fold, but here, I'm OK losing the buy-in if he has a set.
