Kudos, great read, great topic, great content! I think most microstakes players understand the value of cbetting, and that most undervalue double barreling. The K4s discussion is perfect for addressing that, since there are so many loose passive fish at microstakes.

Awesome article. I've started to think a lot more about barreling the turn lately as, from the amount of times i get beat by ace high or w/e after i've gave up with my SC's, i know i dont do it enough, just kinda been going off of barreling Aces or Kings at the minute tbh but this will help me loads. Perfect timing for me so thanks!

re: Aggression, equity and double barreling poker Great article explaining these concepts. Now the hard part is putting them into play! I have just started firing the second barrel recently and I have seen near an instant profit. My problem is if they call the second barrel, trying to put them on a range based off reads etc. I have had some success firing a third and getting folds, but also valuetowned my self. Definitely something for me to work on.

Yeah, that's just something you'll have to figure out with experience, trial and error. In general stick to clear bluffing spots (if you barrel a straight draw but a flush fills, think about bluffing the river), and only jam marginally good rivers if your opponent's stats fall in line with the play (ie high fold to river cbet). Once you get the hang of peoples' frequencies, then you can adjust accordingly. Thanks guy, glad you like the article.

One of the best poker articles I have ever read. You make a somewhat difficult poker concept very clear.

Great article! I always enjoy tapping the minds of the great players here at CC. I'll definitely be checking out your videos at Stox in a few days when my account gets upgraded. Strangely enough I think one of my biggest leaks is barreling too much. PTR seems to agree, with my only low marks on their report card being a D & D+ on turn & river aggression (41% and 38% more aggressive than optimal, respectively). I'll too often apply pressure until I'm raised on the river then I either give up when I shouldn't, or give villain no credit when he has it. So for me personally aggression itself isn't the problem, but rather identifying the proper spots to apply it effectively. I'm working on improving my hand reading skills to better judge those spots, and articles like this offer a lot of insight into how to proceed when I have a good idea of opponent ranges.
