Advice: Playing AQs UTG

When you are under the gun with AQsuited on a 9 player table what do you suggest the best way to play it? Is this a good trapping hand or do I come out firing with all them other people to act? I have some trouble playing this hand in this position and any insight would be gr8 ty in advance.

Your hand is very strong, you must bet. Make your opponents make a mistake and cold call with hands that are weaker.

My explanation of this is terrible--sorry. Read Ed Miller's Small Stakes Hold'e--the bible. He has many great examples of big suited aces and the theory behind betting, and raising, with these hands (and the mistake of just calling with hands like this). You make your money off of weaker players making mistakes. This hand will hit the board many times so getting money into the pot with it is important.

Is this a cash game or a tournament? If its a tournament are the blinds big or small?

I dont like to put a lot of confidence with AQ in EP. Its a decent hand, but I dont think its that strong. If you hit an A or Q on the flop, you're still going to have to play it safe because you could either up against a better PP or a better A.

In a cash game, I'll raise it in EP but I'll play it passively if I flop an A or Q and I get a lot of action. As for tournaments, when blinds are low I'll fold it in EP. I think a lot of people over value this hand and I dont want to be in a position where i'll have to make a decision early on for my tournament life. In LP and blinds are low, i'll raise it of course. If blinds are high and worth going after, I'll raise it big PF and continue that aggression on the flop. Again, raise it in LP as well.
Just remember that AQ is a strong hand, but it can run into a lot of problems, so watch out for that.

ACE/QUEEN DOESNT EXCITE ME FOR SOME REASON WHEN I GET CARDS LIKE THAT THE FLOP IS ALWAYS NOT A MATCH MAYBE IM JUST UNLUCKY, I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL BUT IF IT DOESNT HIT IM NOT GONNA RISK MY WHOLE ENCHALADA ON IT. BUT IF IN POSITION YOU MIGHT STEAL WITH IT.
