On the river i checked (which i realise is abit of a mistake - but for some reason I thought someone had two pair (no idea why i thought this); and wanted to see if someone was going to raise. | No, you don't have to bet that river. It would be a pretty terrible bet actually. Your bet sizing is too small - on the flop you bet 16c into 48 which is well under half the pot. Bet at least 35 there. Same with turn, as played bet like 70 or so. I'm too lazy to count stack sizes, but you should probably be able to get all in by the turn, if not then get it in on a blank river. As played that's a terrible river card for you and checking is standard. |

| By only betting 1/3 of the pot you are inviting the players chasing a straight and a flush to keep playing. You need to make a 2/3 to pot size bet to give them the wrong pot odds to call. I would not have bet the river either as only those that can beat you will call or even raise. |
