| Adding open-shoves and min-raises to my game. Hello People, just wanted your general thoughts on this. I play full handed microstakes and wanted to add these moves to my general "average situation" strategy. I know that throwing all of your money in is a high variance move and raising the minimum will sacrifice value from good hands and could be askng to get out drawn but is there a place for these in a good player's repertoir? I do see these moves quite a bit at the levels I play and not just from the complete idiots. I am guessing that if I balanced the hands I make these plays with well and do them often enough I could get people to call my all-in shoves when I have aces and kings? I feel there is more milage in the open-shove. What ranges would you suggest and what frequencies... whenever a pair uses the standard red and black suits ( I use a 4 color deck) would be one out of eight... I think?! What do you guys think. Should I run some hands through poker stove and see? Also, if I am first in to act and shove it all in, am I more or less likely to be called by a better hand the closer I am to the button? Frank. |

| The minraise is completely pointless, however from my experience at the LOWEST stakes (1c/2c) an open shove might be profitable against some opponents but it's a feel-dependent move. In general you should instead of shoving raise bigger amounts (5x bb for example) and put in massive reraises when you have it. |
