Add on scenerios.
With sever threads about addons and rebuys. I thought I would set up several scenerios for people to input on and see if we can come up with some reasonable strategies around those scenerios.
First Scenerio: You have 50% of the average stack so you are fairly short stacked. They add on is for 100% of the original buy in. Here are the situations. There are only a few seconds left for you to add on. 25% of the players have added on. What do you do? 50%? 75%? almost 100% Next situation you have an average stack. Same 25%, 50%, etc set up. What do you do? Next situation you have twice the average stack but still plent of stacks large than you. Again. Same numbers. Finaly situation. You are chip leader. No brainer. You don't need to add on. |

In general, if you choose to play a tournament with an addon, I think it's better to take it unless you have good reason not to. You should have budgeted to take it before entering in the first place. I probably wouldn't if taking it would still leave me with a shove or fold stack. And maybe I wouldn't bother if I had a huge stack where the additional chips wouldn't matter much.
