I think it's a push/fold situation. After throwing a 400 chip raise you're either going to be reraised or get pushed in after the flop. Get your money in now and see if you can't pick up the blinds. Chances are they'll call you with King high or less, so you'll have a small advantage going in.

you don't have enough chips to get involved in a speculative hand. If you are going to play this hand at all you are committed all the way. So it's either push pre-flop or push the flop no matter what comes out in a stop and go. I assume this was your plan. However I don't really like pushing with A-small OS. What would call you here that you are signigicantly ahead off? Any other ace has you dominated. You have 3 outs to any pair and any other randon hand (K-10, Q-8) is only a slight underdog. I know you're getting short stacked and the blinds are coming up but I think I would wait for something better.

re: ace rag when on the bubble?? poker Yes, but statistically if someone is calling a big raise or all in - even five handed- they will be more likely to do so with an A in there hand. IF you are going to play A3 utg, you are correct that pushing is your best option. But IF you get called, you run a higher probability of being dominated with A-little than you would if you pushed with 98 suited.

Considering you under 8x the BB it is either push or fold in your case. I'd push with A3 here and hope to take down the pot. If you get action, or are called and outkicked so be it. You can't sit around and wait for a big hand to double up on being the SS.
