ace high flush draws

Just curious how u guys play ur ace high flush draws. Especially when in pot with only one other player.

if your drawing to the nuts then playing it hard its the best way i think. On a pair board then slow it down.. semi bluffing its always a good way to play nut flushes.

Depends. What type of opponent? In or out of position? Preflop action? Is villain likely to get it in with worse FDs?

Assuming deep stacks, You should be more likely to check because your draw is to the "Nuts".

Reason 1 --- If you hit your draw, you could win money from someone who would have folded to your semibluff.

Reason 2 --- If last to act, you can take off a free card to hit your draw and stack your opponent. A check raise may force you to fold your "Nut" draw

With a draw not to the "Nuts", your more interested in winning the pot right there if nobody flopped much. ex: As7s 2s Js Jh.

With the "Nut" draw, you have hopes of stacking someone ex: As7s 2s 5s Jh

Note, I am not saying you should never semibluff the "Nut" flush draw. Just be more inclined to check...LizaBuv

This. There is no one way to do anything and in most situations there are tons of factors that are going to affect us. What I am saying is that to get a better more true reply you need to give us a more specific situation or you need to post a hand with what ever relevant information.

I hardly ever play flush draws in Omaha especially if the board is paired. hold em is a diffrent story and the are several ways to play them

U have positon and u were preflop raiser and say bb called.eg:As4s on 3s9hJs flop.bb checked.

U r oop in cutoff and button called. Same cards to keep it simple.

I usually play my draws hard, especially if I have a nut flush draw and straight draw for 3 reasons:
1. Pot control
2. If I do hit my draw, I am almost assuredly going to get paid off
3. Even if I don't hit, my aggressive betting may just get better hands to fold.

^^^ Below $10nl opponents are likely to pay you off if you hit, whereas at higher levels they may not, which makes it more worthwhile to try to get the money in before the flush fills. Semi-bluffing with draws becomes more important.

Agreed. Also at lower limits semi-bluffing loses some of it's shine because a lot of players don't fold which your semi-bluff relies on to make it profitable. Not saying to never do it you just have to more carefully choose your opponents. Plus if they pay you off when you hit anyway who needs to semibluff.

So, if you were playing nano-micros do you advocate flat calling in position instead of re-raising with the nut-flush draw and re-evaluate on the turn?

Like I said, villain dependent. If he's going to call you down with 3rd pair and pay you when the flush comes in there is no reason to raise. As long as stacks are deep enough that you're getting the implied odds you need calling makes the most sense.

Any additional draws like straight draws will increase my aggression because as you get to 11 or more outs you are near at least 50% to complete one of your draws by the river.

I bet my Ace high draw for value! You need to be aggressive and force a call with your bet to see the next card or better yet scare the opponent off his hand!
