A ? about limit vs. no limit I have noticed i run better in limit games vs. no limit games FL or PL, does not matter, seems i can run deeper in the $ on MTT's and on SNG's i tend to cash a lot more, any one else notice something like this about themselves? maybe the other way around? maybe you do better in no limit? What would be your most logical guess as to why? Limit may be minimizing my mistakes? lmk what you think and if you think you run a certain way thanx

My guess would be that you like to chase draws, which you are usually correct to do in limit but in NL it can kill you if you're paying too much. I run just the opposite. I think in my case it's because I'm too tight when I play limit and when I do play I tend to lose to a lot of drawing hands. I haven't play too much limit though so it may just be that I suck at it.

re: A ? about limit vs. no limit poker Ok, lets add some more info, mainly because i think i play to tight in NL In NL, the avg stack just seems to slowly leave me, i usually end up trodding along with about 1/3 to 1/2 the average, i jokingly call it "MY COMFORT ZONE" playing only premium hands in position. While my "table image" allows me to pull off the bluff occasionally, it also seems to limit the size of the pots i do win. Most of the time this will get me into the $, but very rarely will i be able to run as deep as i would like, top 10-15% is usually where i run amuck. In FL and PL i seem to stay right with/just above the avg in MTT's, While in SNG"s, i tend to either be or stay with the chip leader. Have really taken a liking to PL 5 Draw lately, seems to fit my style and i can easily fold 44xxx before drawing. thanx again,

Jevren: I used to believe the same thing about Limit. And, yes, some people occasionally suck-out because they play too many hands and go too far with them. But, those mistakes are what make me money! By playing tight, solid poker I seem to be able to consistently beat other Limit players. And, I don't have to risk my entire chip stack when I do make a bad read.
