6max 25NL

Ok, I usually play full table 10 and 20 sngs, 100NL full ring and the occassional MTT (which im terrible at).
My query is about a general preflop strategy for 6max 25NL. Because i have rarely played this online i just thought id ask here for a few tips. Ive also read afew articles and watched a couple of videos online about 6max. Im starting out at 25NL but im going to move up if i think ive got a hang of it quick enough and try some 50NL and if i get up enough ill be back at 100NL but 6 max instead of the full ring.
Also if anyone has anything about postflop play such as a video or an article a link would also be sweet.
Any help would be great

These threads havnt got much notice in the past. The best you can do is to read strategy articles and just practice.

Here are a couple of posts on the subject by chuck and myself in another thread, but nothing really substantial.

First of all if your gonna start playing cash and you haven't already got Pokertracker then get it. It's invaluable!

You need to aim for TAG ish stats, which in 6max is something like 18/14/2, 16/12/2 or the like. Raise it up baby, no open limping. Aggression is the key to 6max, but not blind aggression ie not knowing when your beat. Take your time, build it up slowly, if things are not going your way come back and post some hand histories and we'll look at them.

I saw this video link on PocketFives (I think) awhile back.
Seeing it gave me confidence to move up to the $25 tables.

ok from all these sources i have put together this list of basic theories/ideas to impose over your game at 6 max.

-Play tight and aggressive
-Protecting your blinds and button is not as big a concept as when I was playing 100NL
-Fast play your big hands to maximise your winnings, slow play rarely to reduce chance of draw outs.
-When you hit your big hand find a way of making the most profit.
-Don’t open limp, raise so you have some folding equity
-Drawing hands such as suited connectors/gapers have huge implied odds so its is +ev to limp behind to hit a huge hand and get paid off
-Don’t show hands (just as every other level)
- Reads are hard to gain here as the play is so unpredictable
-Pre flop raise should be when you are first raiser 4 x BB plus one BB for every limper.
-Bluff rarely

Overall I think I should beat this level at 6 max because I have over a years online experience at higher full ring games and having gaineda basic learning for 6 max I reckon I can do it.

I’ll keep you posted on my progress in this thread (unless there is a different place to keep a public profile on my progress)- except for a blog.

Oh and penguin have you got a video from that guy for 50NL 6max or 100NL :P
i actually think i missed a couple of things outy becasue i typed this then accidentally wiped it so if there is any other small peices of info just put them in here

If you're properly rolled for 100NL (30-40 buy ins) full ring I would move right to 50 NL. The skill level isn't that harder. I use Verneer's strategy (look in the previous posts to find it. It's worth it. His blog is really good) for low variance in NL and it's a pretty good range for playing TAG and that's pretty much what you want to do at these levels. .
