| 50k hands on PT now in the books. I just past the 50k hands mark with Poker Tracker3. I have a week left on my 60 day trial and will purchase this week. Here's what I know about poker: fx20736 < much. From 10k to 41k I got my head kicked in over and over and was on the verge of quitting. Just a few weeks ago I was so badly on tilt and so depressed. You can read my thoughts at the time here: http://http://www.cardschat.com/f46/i-born-lose-184248/ I actually felt purged after posting that and I realized I didn't want to quit playing but didn't want to lose anymore, so I dug into PT and really analyzed where my losses were coming from. I also swallowed my pride and dropped down to 2NL. I am at a point now where I am starting to get more serious. I ordered Poker Math That Matters and signed up for the 7 day trial of Drag the Bar. I have only watched a few videos but it looks promising. I am determined to be a winning poker player. I want to earn an income playing poker. One day I want to quit my job and play professionally although I know that is a ways away. I'm really glad I found Cardschat. I have learned so much from lots of people but especially from WVHillbilly so special thanks to him. |

| good luck mate, looks like the valley is rising now so keep it up! and remember you will lose hands and what ive started to do is everytime i lose, say nh to the person and get on with it, theres nothing wrong with losing if you made the right play, you just want to stay clear of tilting! also if you're playing cash games make sure youre set to reload everytime you lose any money this way you wont be looking at a medium stack thinking "gotta make this back to 100BB's" |

Yes I know I will continue to lose, but finally my winning sessions are a little bigger than my losing sessions: 158 table sessions (2nl) 81 winning sessions, average amt won: $ .79 77 losing sessions, average amt lost: $ .61 Win pct: 51.26% I've also made some unofficial rules for myself: If I bust out I leave the table. If I double up, I leave the table. If I lose 1/3 of my stack before I win a hand I leave the table. If I sit down and see someone has a monster stack ( $ 6.00 or more at 2NL) and I see that this player is winning pot after pot I leave the table. If the table becomes shorthanded (7 or less players) I leave the table. I also try to play 3 tables at a time for one hour sessions and then take a break. If I close a table for any of the reasons I listed above I just go with 2 tables. Toward the end of the hour I will de-select auto-post blinds on the tables and play each until the BB comes around again and then stand up. Also I have learned my lesson about trying to 'get even' or trap someone: if you look at poker as a zero sum game(minus the rake), then the money that bad players win by getting lucky eventually comes back to me so I no longer take it personally. I feel that all of these measures really help to prevent or reduce the effects of tilt. |

| re: 50k hands on PT now in the books. poker Congrats mate. Looks like you've put some solid rules in place to help you minimize tilt. Reaching the point where you stop taking wins and losses personally, basically becoming numb to the general swings of poker, is the first step to continued success. Keep it up!! |
