£50 pot limit - casino - HOW TO PLAY!?

Well, I went to the Grosvenor in Walsall last night to have a look at the old £50 min sit down holdem game.

It was made.. some plays included players going all in for £200 on the flop with a low inside straight draw.. there was a pro at the table.. he raised one hand to £50 pre flop.. 5 people called him LOL.. one of them had K7 off suit..

It was just mental.. the pro got raped because he couldnt bet people out the pot and as so many people in each pot he was getting bad beat left right and center with his good cards...

So is there a way to play against this?

well the difference of pot limit from NL is that you can't bet more than what's in the pot (), so people tend to chase a little more
one way to chase river rats away is to check-raise powerful hands instead of betting right out in order to give a ridiculous calling price

lol.. it was been played worse than no limit.

Pre flop the pro would always do a £10 raise (blinds £2,£2).. so whenever he could, he'd raise £10.

He'd be called by no less than 5 people each time. If then re raised, all 5 people would stay in the pot, even if the re raise was up to £50 etc

The betting is just mental with crap hands.. you cant get into a pot without been pot comitted, so you cant wait for the powerful hands!

Pros are able to adjust to their table.

In a table such as this, raising good hands IN POSITION is a must.
Soooooted aces, sooooted connectors and even sooted gap cards become excellent drawing hands while in good position.
Position is a must!

Calling more, and raising less is the way to go on these tables.
Swings are larger on these tables, but over time they are quite profitable, and the type of table you should be looking for.

Edit to add: Obviously the set value of ANY pocket pair skyrockets at these types of tables.
Chances are you will stack someone if you hit.
Position become irrelevant with ANY small pair (even 2-2)
Key is to get in cheap.

First of all you can't get in cheap. Its too aggressive. Every hand you're putting most your chips in (even if you're not doing the raising...) its just how it goes.

Also pocket pairs killed the pro and my mate who sat down as well. QQ, JJ and TT. Both times they raised big, but just got called by so many. When they didnt hit their trips, people were hitting 2 pairs and straights all over the place with 9-5 off suit and stupid hands like that!

Im just utterly confused. Is it possible to beat this type of game? The pro was playing well, and getting bad beats left right and center due to so many callers to his HIGH raises
