I've been dabbling in these after a long hiatus. Limp, limp, fold, limp, limp, fold, limp, limp, call.....that's your typical hand. For real excitement occasionally there'll be a minraise thrown in.

From what I can tell ~ 40% are calling stations, 20% are bushwackers, and 40% are clueless.

I know I should be killing these games but I'm barely in the black.

Hints on how to exploit the limping masses would be greatly appreciated:)

1. Wait for decent hands
2. Raise
3. Collect limpers' money
4. Profit

Wait for good hands and then take the money of the limpers!
Or limp with hands that can become very good too.... ;)

In my experience it is just a case of playing pretty tight in these games. Raise your good hands, play them in position. Don't be scared to give up on an unimproved AK if the stations are gonna call you down with bottom pair.

Try and avoid early preflop coin flips. You are better than these players, so outplay them, not make it easy for them by racing with them. Ok your not going to fold AA-QQ to their 4 bet. I would seriously consider ditching AK and JJ though dependant on Stack size oviously.

Just watch what the other players do, they are so transaprent

Agreed. Especially if a guy is pushing pre-flop 8x or 12x BB, I'm folding AK, JJ and probably QQ. I figure I'm up against AA in this case.

I agree with all the statements before me and I want to add that these people are giving you good odds to go ahead and check out more flops with suited connectors and one-gappers, and then if you hit the flop big you can try to get them to stack off on you.

I'd add:

1) Don't even attempt to steal a blind until at least the 25/50 level. The first few levels are the haven of the calling stations, and the blinds are too low to be worth it.

2) Always be on the lookout for cheap flops with possible nut hands. (2 paint cards, pocket pairs, etc)

If you are playing $5 SnG's on stars, be prepared to play shove / fold. If you can steal a whole round of limps with AJ / 99+, then make it happen. You'll eventually tilt a good portion of the players and make them play bad.

Check out this free sample video on pokerxfactor.com.It's about how to play low buyin sit and goes.I think it's a very good video for low level buyin sit and go players that have hit the wall so to speak. If you're not ITM over 30% in the $5 single table SnG this may be the fix......coyboy33......www.pokerxfactor.com/servlet/pxf?t=content_free&contentid=855

For SNG strategy, this book needs to be your 1st resource in your poker library

Sit 'n Go Strategy by Collin Moshman

I play a fair amount of the $5 2-table SNG and with this book I have an ROI of 49% and ITM of 32% (1000+ games so far)

A lot of times these calling stations get lucky and crack your monster hand. Sometimes you have to fold AK when the board isn't to your advantage and you're getting raised. There's always next hand.

The suggestion to get Moshman's book is spot on.

Another suggestion I'd make, especially at Stars, is to check out multiple SNGs first. Say there's one with 6 of 9 registered...pull up the tourney page, then check out the SNGs with just one or two players registered. Compare the names and you'll seee who the multi-tablers are. If you have a match up with more than 2 multi-tablers, pick a different game.

If this continues to the middle stages, then up your aggression level. But as it was posted earlier, when the blinds are small it isn't worth it.
