5 hrs in and on the bubb...

How many times have you been in this situation....5 hrs in, big stacks ,and on the bubb...i get here a lot in the larger field freerolls and very rarely it was due to lucky draws.... i feel i play a tight game and only get in there when it is mathematically correct to do so.......but then some idiot reraises after you put out sat a 5000 chip bet when the blinds are 250/ 500 ...youre in with AKs or os or kk or something of that derivative... you call his all in for 1200 more only to see him turn up 95os... you got em right.......WRONG he flops a 5 and rivers another...doubles up....and then has some smartass remark like thx donk or something like that..like you were dumb to go in with your hand.. and then watch em run away with the touney after that....ever been here??? cuz i see it alot and it is really irritating...

yeah, it sucks getting that deep and bubbling. I am really cautious with AK on the bubble with an average stack. It aint worth flipping a coin for your tournament life when you are so close.

sometimes folding a big hand is hard to do but when you finally get to the money its worth it.

yeah, that happens way to often. it especially sucks when they say something that stupid back at you. of course you know they were the donk, but they still have your chips. slop rules it seems. if it wasn't for slop i would win them all.

Win or go home has to be your ultimate goal. Gotta play those big hands if you ever want some serious ROI with your buy-in and not just the buy-in back

When I get that close to the bubble I will pretty much toss any hand except AA-JJ. AA and KK I will bet 5x the BB, but the others I will either limp in and hope to hit a set on the flop or, if the set doesn't come, I will go off my reads and try to outplay them. I don't usually try to steal blinds otb unless it is in an optimal position. Like if you have AKs on the button and it's just you and some mid stack blinds.

The bubble requires patience. After the bubble pops, then you can open up your range a little and start going for blinds again.

Opening your range on the bubble whould be a much better strategy imo.
You dont play a MTT to mini cash and double your buy-in,if you whant to do that you can just play a STT that takes 5x less time.
You play a MTT to get deep and WIN(or atleast final table since the pay outs are usualy very top heavy) and the only way to do that is to acumilate chips and the best chip acumlating opertunity usualy comes on the bubble.
No offense but i think you strategy is extremly flawed and i highly doubt its a winning strategy.

Why are you not just open shoving if you only have 7200 chips at 500bb level?

Your opponent is pretty clearly going maniacal on the bubble trying to exploit tight players trying to make the money. Of course he does this badly by not noticing that you are pot committed, but if you REALLY do want a fold here (which isn't bad a 750 is a bit + % of your stack), then just shove!

Then, you will not induce a [retarded] "re-steal" from the bully. Alternately, limp or raise smaller and when he re-pops it, YOU get to shove. Idiots like this will make these crazy moves a lot more if THEY get the last action. In other words, since he got to raise and didn't have to call, he was happy to put the money in. Not saying he would (or even should, since you didn't give us his stack size) fold here, but if you want to maximize your fold equity you picked a bad line against this type of maniac. Remember: they don't like to call themselves, they like to make YOU call.

Well, I used to play more openly but I kept getting beat. This strategy has put me at the final table 3 times in CC free rolls in the last two weeks. It works for me! I conserve my chips until the bubble breaks, and then I open up. And when I say close to the bubble, I mean about 20 away.

I don't play many MTT's outside of CC, so I don't know if this would work much for me out there.

that especially makes me mad!!! It never fails that I get out rivered! I say "out rivered" because typically I have them beat until that dern river card. I don't know about other sites, but FTP is horrible for a "River Burn!"

Thats why they play the game if the best hand always won then who woulld actually play. Think about it what if a couple other players had an A or K and no other player had the cards that the guy who rivered you. So obviously he has alot more outs than you. So dont get mad why dont people put up a blog saying hey i caught the gut shot or the miracle flush on the river. Maybe there should be a i donkeyed them post, well anyways good luck on the felts my new CC friends.
