| 5 card draw!!! hey guys, anyone here plays 5 card draw? i sometimes play this game 10c/20c fixed or 25c/50c fixed 6 handed, i usually make a profit at these tables, people seem to very week, always calling with a draw, paying you off, but i believe i could make more. i was wondering if anyone knows a good strategy, maybe a video of someone playing 5 card draw. basically here is what i do, from position i will raise with a big pair, lets say my cards are KKA84 rainbow, i will raise this, if i can i see how many he will discard, maybe he discards only 1, giving me the information he might have 2 pair, i will keep the KKA and discard 2 cards, giving the signal i might have 3 of a kind in my hand. a lot of people will fold to a bet after the discard round is over. i have been looking over youtube and google for strategys, cant really find much information. if anyone else likes this game, maybe we can change some ideas, you can tell me how often do you bluff, do you raise with a big pair from early position? do you call a raise if you are on a draw? do you call a raise if you are on a draw and you are in the big blind? do you cann the big blind with 1 pair if there are like 4 guys in the pot, trying to hit a set and take down a big pot? waiting for any post you can, even if you dont play the game, tell us why you dont like it, or what you believe about it. |

| I used to play a lot of 5CD live (in the old days before online poker) with reasonable success. Despite that, I haven`t found a way to consistently beat the game online. It is very read-dependent, and I don`t feel that one gets enough information online. Having said that, a straightforward tip which I think is worth remembering is that position is a huge advantage at 5CD, and therefore one should never play a mediocre hand (ie. a pair or a draw) out of position. |

| I like to play but know nothing about strategy. Watch the calendar for our Sunday Pokerstars games - we throw that in there once in a while. |

| re: 5 card draw!!! poker I've been having some good luck at the 5CD tables lately, ending somewhat of a bad run. 1. I'll try to start with two pair or better. Maybe with a pair better than 10's if I'm in position. 2. I truly aim for starting with a set, I've found that opponents LOVE being dealt two pair, or even J's or better. 3. Don't waste money on draws because if you don't catch you're a dead give away, discarding 1 and then following it up with a smooth check. Last edited by burntrider : 31st January 2010 at 3:56 PM. |

Look at the 2nd dark blue bar with links going across the top of every page. We are playing 8-game today. Also there is a 5 card draw game in this: http://www.cardschat.com/f43/cardsch...2010-a-169078/ (http://www.cardschat.com/f43/cardschat-championship-poker-cccop-february-2010-a-169078/) |

Pokerstars The Ongame Network (eg. Redkings) The Merge Network (eg. Carbon) The Boss Media Network (eg Paradise, Virgin) The Microgaming Network (eg Ladbrokes, PokerTime) The Entraction Network (eg 24hPoker) but of these only Stars and Merge accept American players. I assume also Full Tilt, since we are apparently having a CC game of 5CD there, but I didn`t see any 5CD being played there last I looked. (Edit - actually, I see that game has been deleted from the lineup now, so may have been an error ?) Last edited by Egon Towst : 14th February 2010 at 7:03 PM. |
