3.30 re-buy on stars

With a BR of $96, what would be the best way to appraoch this tourney.
How many times should I allow myself to re-buy.

Well to be honest, the best way would be not to play it. Considering proper bankroll management, you're only barely going to be able to fund yourself for the initial buyin; rebuying once will already go over the standard %5.

I'd say unless you're a viciously good MTT player, and very few are, you should have at least like an $800 bankroll to play the $3+R regularly. I barely played it with my $1000 bankroll back when I was playing almost strictly tourneys.

Lets assume I'm a vicious MTT player and we forget proper BR managment(Im already playing)for this post, what would be the bare minimum number of times I could re-buy?

Well if we're forgetting proper BR management, then you can have 96/3 = 32 rebuys

As long as you sit tight and conservatively in the first 45 minutes, you shouldn't need too many rebuys unless you get premium hands cracked multiple times in a row. Be willing to loosen up and maybe gamble in the last 15 minutes if you haven't built up a nice deepstack, but don't get busted before the break and just leave. Make at least one last desperation rebuy, and hope to build a nice stack stealing blinds after the break, because the field will be smaller, while the prize pool is maxed out.

Well for starters, build to at least 300.00 bucks before trying one of these. and remember you want to be loose and set the table image. You are just setting them up in the long run and will collect your investment before the first break. Might want to watch or rail first to see what happens. be aware of how many seats at a table. for the game changes from 9-10. thus your stratgy changes for starting hands.

I did my first $3.30 rebuy tournament last night, i finished in the money. People were storming like crazy and I just pick my spot and got lucky. I had well over 10,000 in chips before the break. Didn't have to rebuy or addon. So you need a bit of luck. As for bankroll, you should have 100x rebuyin, so 100x$3=$300.

This is probably the funnies tourney on PokerStars. People shoving in the first blind level just cracks me up. What I do is start of with a double rebuy, wait for a top 10 hand and then double up! If I get a bad beat I double rebuy again and repeat.

I think I know you....

As a frequent player and casher of the 3r (with multiple FTs in it)...with the limited BR that you have..I would strongly recommend you start with a double buy-in (3K in chips) try to double up as Nate says...

BUT,,,if you do not make it to the addon--QUIT. If you do make it to add-on under 10K in chips..then addon so the max you are playing is $9.30.

This runs counter to many who say you should never quit a rebuy before the rebuy period is over. But if you have limited funds you have to try and maximize profit. The bottom cash is about 16.00 so putting any more than $9.30 in each tourny hampers your ability to grind out a profit
