Got my ass handed to me I just need either reassurance that I dont suck at life or some criticism....

Hero in late position pocket pair 77 (suits arent important no rainbow board)

Entered into a raised pot $10 4 players

Pot sized 39

Flop 5 7 Q

checks around, value bet 10 folds around now head to head with villan

Turn Q

Villan checks I bet $10

Villan calls.... at this point im thinking him on trips

River 10

Villan bets 15 I raise to 30

Villan shoves I call

full house v full house he had Q 7 for queens full of 7's

Shouldnt I have been able to fold... I keep beating myself up

Hero bets 15 to look like hes on tilt ( i was steaming at this point but not tilted)

3 Callers flop was

A 4 9 (suits not important rainbow)

I bet 10 fold down the line to villan who calls.

Hero bets 20 Villan calls

Hero bets 40 villan calls

Villan flopped a set of 4's

Hero feels like killing himself LOL

Delt trash from then on...

If none of this made sense I'm a bit drunk now... LOL happened like 6 hours ago...

So here is my question... Do i suck at life? or can i calm down and just call this variance? What would you have done?

Variance. Not that it would have changed anything but why do you make stupid small bets? Calling it a value bet is just a dumb excuse for making a small bet in the first place and realizing that you shouldn't have. When you're playing against people who will call a raise preflop with Q7, you need to be hammering them when you hit the flop hard, because they will call when they hit even the slightest part of the flop.
