I have a couple of questions i tend to raise with pocket 9 and 8s in MID/LATE position is this the right play? and how to play when there are over cards/card on the flop? With 6s and 7s i will normally just call and look to set/fold is this the right why to play them? I need help all advice welcome |

| If you're struggling to play pps op, then fold them from EP until you feel more confident postflop. Raise them up when you do play them, since you really want to be HU postf. 66-99 sees at least one overcard most of the time; so you really need to have a good postflop strategy for the 88% of the time you dont flop a set. Something to note is that a single villain misses about half the time, so a c-bet is usually for value, esp with only one OC |

| At 6 max 2 nl I would raise all pocket pairs from all positions. People stack off light at these stakes so the time you do flop sets you will get paid alot and raisinig pre helps build a pot. I see a ton of guys at these limits too that will call a raise pre then fold 80% of the time to a cbet which is easy money as well. Look at who is left to act after and figure out what the best play is? If the guy to your left 3 bets alot then fold the lower pocket pairs etc. |

Yeah I open 22+ from all positions too. As for the flop when you miss, I would cbet any board that looks as though it hits my range more than his (Axx, Kxx, etc.) which naturally means overcards to your small PP. Also it's villain dependant. If he folds a lot to cbets, then cbet. By a lot I mean around 70%+ |

| re: 1st Thread-could do with some help with pocket pairs 6-9s poker Raise preflop, get less people into the pot. Then C-Bet flops that fit ur range, it u get called ge warned. But study your opponents first, u will act better then |

| I will raise preflop with pairs becuase when somebody limps I will assume there playing suited connectors/small pairs. If I dont make my set I usually Bet in position, or check, fold on the flop. If im down to heads up I will float it hoping he will check and get a free card or maybe steel if I feel hes not very strong. Even with top pair its still risky, he could have a set of his own, overpair, and if they have two suited overcards with 3toflush they will probably chase and you don't want that. Im not very good at cash games but I hope this helps. I took the sitngo course on pokerstars about small pairs and it says to raise or call 2%of you stack with 22,3%with33,4% with 44 and so on. |
