10 seater SNG's

is it best to sit out on 10 seat sng's untill the blinds go up 150? And usually there will only be 6 to 7 ppl left anyway...

exactly what would you hope to accomplish by sitting out? the only thing that will happen is that your stack will get blinded down, and you'll have to take more risks just to get in the money. you should be trying to win, and early stages are filled with double up opportunities that help give you a cushion to play with.

Many pro players say to sit out for the first two rounds of blinds. There are LOTS of players trying to double up early with anything. If you get in there are gamble early you may be knocked out by something as silly as 35 sooooooooooooted. I play differently on many sites to keep things changing. But, I would always try to gain as much info as possible from my opponents.

I like playing the first few rounds if there isn't too much raising going on.

It lets me play a wider range of hands early, and potentially flop a monster. The good news if I get to show it (other than dragging a pot), is that the more astute players who see me turn over a 68 suited for the straight will think I am likely to play junk later in the tourney, giving me a few more loose calls.

i would think you would want to play as many hands possible with the blinds so low. as the tournament goes on the blinds will increase and if you are playing a turbo tounry the window to play certain hands will close fast.

if you do sit out at least watch and maybe you can sorta key in on the players moves and who knows get the rockets in time to play
but who am i to tell how to play anything i won 19.50 in a freeroll the other day and what took over 3 hours to get i got rid of in less than 10 minutes lol

Never sit out in a sng. You can miss lots of opportunities early.

No, it is never good to sit out until the blinds reach a certain level. What happens if your dealt AA, AK, KK and QQ while the levels are 10/20?????

Never sit out, but play super tight while the blinds are low and observe your competetion. Play your good hands strong and fold all junk. But sitting out is a big mistake.

It is for players like this that you cannot sit out early. While they happily call the blinds and see lots of flops, most of which they miss, their stacks go down as well.

Play tight during the first three or four rounds of blinds and observe the other players. See who is raising all the time, who is a rock, what position do they come in from and what hands are they showing down. You can use this information later on and after 3-4 rounds there should be 2-3 players gone already.

Raise your premium hands well, at least 4x BB and maybe more. If not called, show the strong hand to show the table you are only playing premium hands.

Now, when the blinds get to 75/150 you can start to use your tight table image to your advantage. Steal the blinds more often, say two out of every three times you are on the button in an unentered pot. Just make sure the BB isn't a call any raise, defend BB at all costs type of player.

I don't understand why you sit out during first blind levels. Even though first hands are usually dangerous, then you can't be a poker player without taking some risks early in tournaments.
I usually sit out when my stack is big enough if it happens. I'm more used to sit out for huge field tournaments. Yesterday i was registered at the $500 Guaranteed but couldn't play the first hour, then i came back with only $450 in chips remaining. Few hands later i was up to $12000.
Anyway told us about the rooms you're playing at cause i would like to meet sit out when i'm playing SnG.

Really it would show a sign of weakness to sit out at that stage of the game. You can play everthing practiclly in the begining and you will be suprised how much you can learn from it. let alone the large stack you can accumulate in the meantime.

Why? You will end up fighting againts the bigstacks in the later stages, it makes no sense, if you pretend to sit down until you get in the money that just is not going to happen.

You need to play your hands, your good hands. Play a tight agressive style instead of not playing , i think that is a real strategy.

you need to play to win-of course pay tight in the beginning and pick your spots-but to sit out and hoping to make the money is just the wrong reason to be playing-you need to be going for the win at all times-the_urge27

play your 10-seaters like a 9-man...tight early and loose late..

its not a bad idea to sit out of a tourney but you can potentially increase your first place finishes by playing in the early rounds since there are many people who stack off TPTK to your sets and better...you should ONLY be playing AA,KK,QQ,JJ,TT,AK and coming in with a raise,you can also play your smaller PPs for set value since there will be people stacking off with TPTK.
