| 10-SEAT vs 6-SEAT Cash Games I'd like to hear some of you talk about how you alter your basic strategy depending on table size. Do you have any general rules about starting hands? Do you bet differently? Play premium hands differently? (I know a lot of this depends on your opponents and the stakes.) I suppose some players might have a game that would be more naturally succesful on a smaller table than a larger one. Do any of you play Only on a certain sized table? Whilst I've just left Pacific, I did start to think that 10-seaters were a little too big and that 6-seaters were a little too small (pacific don't offer 8-seated games). Any thoughts? |

Full ring allows time for patience, imo. You can wait for hands and opportunities without a lot of pressure. Short-handed opens up the range of playable hands and opportunities for aggressive play seem to come around more often (and since the blinds also come around more often, you have to take those opportunities when they come). You'll find where you're best and most comfortable and there's no harm in sticking to that. For me, I decided I want to play all the games in all formats. Which probably means I'll always be mediocre at best. But I'm having a good time. Good luck to you :-) |
