Your opinion about free bankroll offers Hello, I've seen recently a site that propose free bankroll for new subscribers to some poker rooms... What's your opinion regarding that ? Is that a danger to subscribe on such activity site ? They usually ask you a picture of your ID/Passport/Driver licence ... I'm really interested in that if it's not risky ... If you have some links about that, I currently have only one, and I don't know if it is serious ... ==> Having your come backs would really help me to take the good decision. Thanks in advance, Cheeeeers, Stef

I gave mine out and received the bonus once a couple years ago. However you need to read the requirement, some of them you have to earn so many pts before a certain date in order to clear the money and some are quite high. I did not do it so I am not sure of the withdrawal issues you may come across should you make the requirement. Good Luck.

I've done it and had no problems. I don't remember a driver's license requirement; I think they had to call me at home to verify account. i think I got $50 free at UB, then $50 more after a certain amount of play. It's a good way to get a start without a deposit. Caveats: Most common offers are through UB and Absolute, sister sites which have had major cheating scandals. But I saw one at FT too. If you're going to be a lon-term player, a rakeback deal is far better than a quick fix bankroll. Gary

There usually is no catch in these free bankroll offers, but keep in mind that you cant withdraw anything from the pokersite untill you make your own deposit from your own money account. So that technically may be a catch in a certain sence...
|

yehh theres always a catch. you have to get to a certain number of points before they "double you first deposit" or something similar. i'd recommend sticking to the trusted poker sites like full tilt or pokerstars.

I did the instant bankroll on Party Poker back when it took US players. I got $75 and then $25 more when I reached a certain number of points. I did manage to cash out there without depositing when they were changing to not allow US players any longer. I've seen it now where you can get it for AP and UB from the same site that gave me the first one.

Yes, many of these offers are legitimate. They are made by affiliates to the site who expect a long-term return by getting a portion of your rake each month. To entice new players, a poker site may appeal directly to the player by offering a deposit bonus. The site will also work with affiliates who may get a referral bonus or a portion of future rake for guiding a player to their site. Such bonuses are available through CardsChat, and signing up through CardsChat benefits this forum, so it's a good idea to sign up through CardsChat if you seek a deposit bonus. Other affiliates may offer a rakeback deal instead of OR along with a bonus. Rakeback means a percentage of all your future rake is paid back into your account - usually monthly (but Carbon pays it back daily). The poker sites themselves generally don't offer rakeback; it's available by affiliate referral only. And some sites, such as PokerStars have no rakeback at all. Less common is the free bankroll offer. This is also generally available by affiliate referral only. The offer is legitimate and some affiliates offer you a choice of options. For example, they may give you $50 to play with free, no match required. Or they may give you $100 immediately to match a $100 deposit. You can play with your free $50, lose it all, and have no further obligation. Usually if you want to withdraw you have to play a certain number of hands, and that information will be in your sign-up agreement. You can usually withdraw without ever making a deposit, since the initial $50 from the affiliate is considered a deposit - but this may differ from site to site, and the requirements are always explained beforehand. I've signed up for sites using all three methods, and they all work. I can't vouch for every single free bankroll affiliate, but the main players are legitimate and yes, there is such a thing as somebody just handing you over $50. Why would they do that? Because they hope to benefit by receiving a portion of your rake if you remain a long-term player. They give you $50 now but they hope to receive hundreds or thousands in the future for their $50 investment. If you take the $50, lose it and quit the site, then the affiliate loses. But their statistics must show that it's a long-term winning strategy for them or they wouldn't continue to do it. As to the ID requirement, that's also part of a legitimate verification process for many poker sites. They may require you to send them a photocopy of your driver's license and both sides of the credit card you used to deposit. You usually don't need to do this to deposit, but you need to do it to withdraw. If you expect to win and withdraw, you might as well do it early in the process because you will have trouble if in a couple years you no longer have the credit card you deposited with. (KEEP those disposable VISA all-access cards if you use them!) Every site is different and sure, it does make you uneasy to send all that info - but the sites require it to establish your ID and avoid charges of money-laundering and such. If an affiliate is asking you to do that on deposit, either do it and take the $50, don't do it and forget about the $50, or look for another affiliate whose requirements are more to your liking. I hope this answers your questions. Gary |

I've had sites offer me bankroll $$, usually after I haven't played there for a while and they are trying to give me a little incentive to come back. There was nothing crooked or dishonest about them at all, just a business trying to get a former customer to give them another shot with no strings that I have experienced. I think that's smart business.

re: Your opinion about free bankroll offers poker Thanks all for your responses ... especially the one from glworden as it gives me come backs and make me feel better regarding their procedures. The site I was talking about is free bankroll mob ... Most of that, I have now an idea of the three kind of bonuses it possible to have. I'll go on trying some poker rooms by this ways, and after some time of usage, I will write an information post to give you my experience regarding it ... Your answers let me know that sometimes there can be some hard conditions to respect before having the free bankroll really, but you never talk about illegal procedure, dark business ... So it is now fully OK for me.

I didn't say that there aren't scammers. I'm sure there are. But most of the big free bankroll sites are legit. Maybe look around for one that doesn't ask for your ID pic right off the bat? I used PSO with no problem. Haven't heard of the one you mention.

It Depends If it is a new site asking for ID, I would probably just pass on the offer. I have lost way to much on these new sites opening, and then closing taking several hundered dollars of mine with them. I have given my ID to some of the sites. However, it was to verify my info so I could make a withdraw. I would stick with the sites that have been around for some time and wait to see if the others make it.

Think before answering People are giving lazy and packaged answers and advice when all the guy asked was are these legitimate offers? The answer is YES. There's also misleading use of the term "site." The poker sites themselves aren't making these offers. They are made by affiliates who are directing traffic to the site in return for a future cut of the player's rake. CardsChat does it too by offering referral bonuses to various poker sites. It's 100% legit. As I said before, there are three different ways to attract players: a bonus offer where a deposit is matched, a rakeback offer where you get the best long-term benefits because you will always get a portion of your rake returned with no time limit, and these free cash offers. There are no monsters in the bushes or boogeymen going to jump on you. Why all the fear-mongering in this thread? These affiliates will make your first cash deposit, usually about $50, in the hopes you'll be a long-term player and they'll get a cut of your rake. OF COURSE you can't take the $50 and withdraw it immediately. That would be stupid, but the fact that you can't do that doesn't mean there is trickery and deception. That would just make no sense. But you can take the $50 and play with it immediately. If you lose it, you can deposit some of your own money or quit the site. If you want to withdraw, you will have to play a certain number of hands so that the affiliate who gave you the money in the first place will get a return on his investment. If you bust out and quit the site, the affiliate loses and I'm sure they figure in a certain number of such cases when they make the offer. Some sites won't let you withdraw unless you've made a deposit at some point, but the free bankroll paid for by the affiliate sometimes meets that requirement. If you want to know, just read or ask. If free money is your biggest priority, take the money. But it's probably not the best decision if you're going to be a long-term player at a site. If you plan on playing there for a long time, either get a bonus match and make the maximum deposit or get a rakeback deal that lasts forever. Given some typical bonus limits, which would you rather have: $600 in matched deposit or $50 no strings attached? I'd take the $600. The $600 (or often more) is better for the long-term player. The $50 is fine for getting your feet wet, but once you get it you're usually ineligible to go back and get a bonus or rakeback deal. You guys who keep saying this is shady should wisen up and deal with facts rather than suspicions. I and many of my friends have done the free bankroll offers and have never had problems. Gary

| I have use one of them too, and just recommended that one to a friend of mine. And I fully agree with GLWorden he's absolute right, you'll allways find it's affilate's that does those. (they basically put a hook on you and then recive a bit of the rake you generate on the site, as thanks, for having guided you to the site, the pokersite see these paybacks to the affilates as promotion money, so you won't fell a thing.) some sites gives you a cash bonus when you sign up also, but that another story, because you then have to put up you own money like f.ex the Bodog offes 10% cash of you inital deposit. Then some other sites sometimes put small amounts of money on your account if you have been away for too long, and they want you back. but again that is not what srt27300 is asking. | re: Your opinion about free bankroll offers poker I can vouch for Ultimate bet. I even made a mistake in overdepositing and they sent the difference back to me after I explained my mistake to them. Only a business that wants to keep you long term would do that. As for their bonus it is released to you as you acquire points on their site. Easy money if you are a great player and can easily survive playing many sessions long enough to collect it. If you are like me and are not such a great player it does give you incentive to tight'n up and not be so greedy in different situations so that you do survive to collect it! Very easy to donk it all off while learning - then have to re-buy or re-deposit back in! |

Hello, As as you say, based on many systems available (free initial bankroll offer, a rakeback for next deposits, etc.), it is quite important to decide which one I want most. In my case, I already have some prefered sites on which I like to play regularly (Bwin, FullTilt, PokerStars, PKR, Expekt), and I only think : why not to try some others if it's free and I can do money games without having to invest my money currently. Would you have some links to web site offering that ? What is FBO ? Can you send me such information by PM ?

srt27300 is no risk to send them your id and a bill.i make this thing of a lots of sites and is very secure.the bad part at this offers is you must make a lot of points to can withdraw and this is the reason why i look twice at an offer...i dont wanna recieve 50$ and after i make 150 to find out i have to make 10.000 points. vbmenu_register("postmenu_1039972", true);

re: Your opinion about free bankroll offers poker I claimed a free bankroll through an affiliate for Mansion Poker and it worked out OK for me. I had to make a deposit before I could withdraw and provide proof of ID, but that was no problem.

i just tried one site out and i got $10 free at ultimatebet, im sure other sites offer more but i choose this one because all they require is to download the site through their link and use their refferal bonuse code and after making my account at ultimatebet i had to email them my Ultimate Bet nickname, real name and email address associated with your Ultimate Bet account, but in order to withdraw i got to play 300 raked hands, wow, sounds like alot, but it's free, im not sure im allowed to advertise the site but google, no deposite bonus, it's either the 1st or 2nd.

Thanks all for your answers ... As someone from CC told me, it is maybe not authorized to make advertisment for sites that gives bakroll offers ... Now I am in registering in a site offering that ... and that seems to be working. In general, only the condition to withdraw are quite difficult to reach, but as it's free, it is really interesting to try ... For the moment, I had a $10 free bankroll and if I reach xxxx points I can have another part of the bonus : remaining $25. Just for the moment, I did only 4 games : - 1 SUPER TURBO with 16 players, I arrived 3rd (buy in $0,66 earned $1,92) - 3 SnG at $0,12 ($0,10 buy in + $0,02 fees/charges) and I won 1, came 2nd on another and lost the last => about + $0,50 => And a total of 1 point and I have to reach 4000 points if I remind well to have remaining $35 => It will be a long run before reaching it. Maybe I'll go on cash games to try to accelerate the bonus to come Thanks again, all seems to be fine for me now ! And I feel more confident based on what you say to me

I did one when I was really into tourneys. Something like $50, or $100 if you deposited. I chose the former. They wanted me to play cash games to clear the bonus but the site I linked through basically said by email that you'd lose it before you got the required raked hands. So instead I played some $5 HORSE tourneys and cashed in a few (around 50 people). Then I played a $15 which I won = $270. I then asked if I could withdraw the cash. The site said that I could take out the amount over the free money - so i took out $350+. Then I decided to try to free up the other by playing cash games - got to 100 raked hands before I'd lost it ( needed 375). Haven't played there since. Overall, very happy with the offer but I did notice I never got any other promotions from the site - you know free money or touney invites.

re: Your opinion about free bankroll offers poker Currently, I do have ... Of course, there are conditions for having the second part of the bonus, but currently, in one weekend, I had accomplished about 10% about the required "action points" for the remaining bonus
