Wow... All I can say is I'm very proud of myself. (Big freeroll placing.)

Ok, it may be a freeroll for another forum, but hey, I have to gloat. Besides, at the final table I name-dropped CardsChat and the person that puts together their freerolls is getting a huge forum tourney set up. So, I'll follow up on that, and there may be a forum competition freeroll going on soon with at least $1500 deposited.

But, to my placing. I finished 3rd in a freeroll of ~300 people, with only the top 3 being paid (the guy who set it up fudged the payout spots on accident). I cannot be more proud of myself because of this placing. I was shortstacked literally the first 30 minutes of the final table... barely scavenging for chips.

When it finally turned around for me I had 4500 chips, no lie, and I was in the BB with 1500/3000 blinds. So, I had 1500 left after the BB with 95 in my hand. One player limps in and I check and see A75... I push, he calls, and he's holding the A, but the river gives me my 9 and I double up with 2 pair. VERY next hand I have K9-suited and push from the small blind. One limper calls and he has AA, and I figure I'm dead. I hit my K on the flop... and the river... yep, 9 saves me again.

So after that I'm decent, but still the third lowest left of 9 people. The next 5-10 hands changed that as I doubled up twice, and knocked out 2 players (one with a very lucky bad beat, and I felt bad about it, too). So I was sittin' pretty around 80,000 chips, and then cruised my way to the final 3. I felt like Joe Hachem, hehe.

But in the final 3 my first hand was 99 and the chip leader pushed in front of me... I call hoping for a race, which is what I get, and win the hand. The next hand he's shortstacked and goes all in and I call with J10-suited and lose. The VERY next hand I have 66 and he pushes and I call (we're even in chips, basically; I have him covered by 3,000); he shows A10-offsuit and I lose the race. Next hand I'm out in 3rd.

Ahh, I'm still very happy with my 3rd place finish.

It's also my 3rd freeroll final table this week. I finished 5th in the CC early freeroll. I finished 6th in a private freeroll last night of 97 players (bubbled out right before the money). Then this, which is by far my best finish to date... even better than my 7th place $105 win at the Titan $2250 guaranteed, at least to me.

Got my fingers crossed with this Dream Freeroll coming up Saturday.

[Sorry for being so long-winded, my blood is just really flowing right now.]

Amazing job man. That is quite an amazing accomplishment, especially with the very low pay placings. Nice though you made the money because the prizes were probably much larger than what you would normally have got with only 30 places paid which it should have been. congrats again and GL in the future.

Now THAT'S a bubble - 3rd out of 239 gets $100, 4th gets nothing!

Nice going there, well done (some of those names seem familiar!).

In total, freerolls and tourneys, I've been on 5 final tables (albeit I started count after I made the first one roughly 3 weeks ago). Second is my best finish so far.

I find that my problem is once I've got far enough into the money to be satisfied, I play too loose and too aggressive. I find it hard to stick to my solid gameplan I had the whole way through.

Case in point, once I hit $100 in one tourney I played really aggressive and finished at $107... another tourney once I hit $40 I finished in 5th at $45... then this one, once I hit the money I got really aggressive. I'm not too worried about this one, though.. $100 ain't bad at all for free.
