Worst poker room software

I have played on several dozen sites/rooms...and let me say, just when I thought I'd seen the ugliest, laggiest, sorriest excuse of a poker room, another one comes along that really takes the cake.

The all time worst room award has to go to spadeclub poker...if your not familiar with them, don't worry, you would throw up if you played there for longer than 5 minutes. The software is hideous, the lag is overwhelming...its just plain gross.

Second place has to go to clubwpt...software is not far from being as crummy as spadeclub.

Third place might have to possibly go to absolute...but anyways I'm curious what you guys think.

Bodog by a mile. They made some improvements but still have a long way to go. Hand historys please!!! And not that crap they have now.

Absolute Poker is the most aesthetically ugly, then Ultimatebet. I don't think Bodog is ugly but in terms of functionality, it's very lacking. I think Full Tilt and Pokerstars are standard, and I think they are at a point where they slightly exceed at what an average poker room should look like. I think haven't found a poker room that blew me away. Oh, I did attempt to try this poker room called the World Poker Exchange, but those idiots limit your name by 6 characters, and after trying various names, I quit. I don't want to play with a name like BB45X1, lol. I know I can't judge the looks of the client by that, but come on, if I can't even get passed registering, everything else gets a cold hard 0/10!!!

One that I'm not keen on is PKR. The 3D does nothing for me, I can't seem to find a straightforward view that shows the entire table at an easy glance, and having to peek at my cards is IMO something that serves no purpose and is annoying.

I agree Spade club is horrible, the graphics and lack of table options is really annoying. The game play is terrible because its a subscription site and there's no money to lose so a lot of players play with a freeroll attitude(donkfest) Also the payout structure is no better than most freerolls you get on any other site. The cost of subscription is less than 20 bucks but I would invest it elsewhere since you cant play cash games at SC, if you win a few bucks there u cant go grind it out to build your BR.

Got to agree with those that say Bodog. Lately the software takes forever to come up, sometimes I get logged in, sometimes it just sits there. Even when I do log in then it won't let me register for the tournament.

No idea what's up with it. I tried totally uninstalling and reinstalling, it worked once then back to the same old thing. It's not worth reinstalling it every time just to play there.

ya i honestly pity the fool who plays at spadeclub...i cant disagree enough however about bodog. At least visually speaking, I love the bodog software, it looks really sharp, and I haven't had any issues playing there, except that I consistenty lose there more than any other site.

I totally agree with Ian here.
Apart from the Mickey Mouse attempt,to let you see where you are during a tourney,if you are you running another poker room at the same time, then forget it!
With another poker room running, the BODOG software slows down so much, that your cards are folded automatically, because the software has not recognised how you acted in the time given.
I have'nt played there for a while,so if it's improved,then please let us know.

i find it hard to play on PKR. the software takes up so much space on ur hard drive that when playing it is so slow and freezes a lot. PKR try to give u a live expierience on online with the 3D graphics.....i'll take 2D anyday...

+1 for bodog, looks like playing on scrabble tiles and the support is horrific. They actually tried to steal money from my account which took weeks to sort out.

Pokerstars and fulltilt have the best software.... but you cant expect them not too when they are top sites, absolute, Ultimatebet and carbon are okay with me but I'm not impressed by anything... bodog and doylesroom software both suck in my opinion... although I used to like the doylesroom software years ago when it was original software and not this generic garbage with avatars of people sitting at a table

I find coming from live play that the card peeking can be an advantage due to being able to seeing others looking at their cards.

I love bodog poker it is all around the best. Spadeclub there is nothing wrong with it i just dont like how you cant play real money ring games. Now my worst sites would have to be absolute and pokerstars. way to many outdraws unrealistic. same with fulltilt to many outdraws, to many donks, thats why i love bodog not near as many calling stations and donks.

So if I get this right, you like playing against better players, instead of those who will call your all ins with any 2 cards?

I'll take the donks and calling stations everyday, they might suck you out 2/3 times out of 10, but your making much easier money than against good and experienced players.

Have not played the first 2 you mentioned, but have played absolute. Don't care for it.
Spin32 is not good either.
Ultimatebet not as good as it used to be since they merged with Absolute.

That's my list in no particular order.....

As far as functionality goes I think PokerStars has been the best for at least 5 years. Full Tilt is not far behind now, A few years ago they were too visually oriented but has made leaps and bounds in functionality in the past couple years. Tried absolute a couple of years ago and didnt mind it. recently tried Carbon, they've got a few features I like that the others dont have, but I think they try too hard to be a community instead of focusing on the game. Tried Ultimatebet about 2 years ago and absolutely hated it!!! They have a cool points system, but thats it. So my votes go: Pokerstars = HERO Ultimate Bet = ZERO

yeah, i know wut u mean. It's fun at first tryin to give the impression of live poker but u know wuts funny, if u wante dlive poker then u can go bouts anywhere these days and play LIVE poker. But PKR is pretty crummy and annoying at the end of the day.

The worst site i have been on has to be Mansion Poker which has a horrible lobby or Absolute Poker which has another crummy lobby.

I've decided that PKR is the worst poker site - terrible quality games, impossible to find action. Slows my computer, irritating sounds and visuals. It has no redeeming features.

PIT BULL

I play alot at pitbull, because they have lots of freerolls (although the payout is only to less than the top 2% of the players) 350+ players and 18 winners. However, often when playing the 7 card stud type games, the software will auto-check everybody all the way thru the last card. No chance to bet, you just sit and wait. Maybe they should call these, sit N wait games. Often, when waiting to get into a game that I have registered for, you don't get seated. You leave the site, come back, and get seated a minute or two after it has started. Also, at times when you check a players notes, the note banner then blocks the player and you cannot get it to go away without leaving the game, and the site.. then comning back onto the site and rejoining the game. That makes the banner go away. Final complaint, locks you out at times so you time out but do not have the option to bet, just watch the timer run out. Why do I keep playing there? Like I said.. lots of freerolls
