| Winstar Casino Yesterday we were in Denton, Tx to scope out a place to leave our RV on consignment and decided to go on up to the Winstar Casino in OK. It is the 1st exit off I35 and attracts mostly Texans. The Poker room is blissfully non smoking, and HUGH! There are two rooms of tables, 46 in all. Far enough away from the smelly casino that the air is fresh. This is the best run poker room I have ever seen. They have a raised cage with 3 people monitoring sign ins, table assignments, computer screens and handling comps. On the floor there are several runners available to get chips for players and handle dealer requests. There are also food and drink (nonalcoholic!!) servers. Beer is available for a charge. When we arrived, all 46 tables were full!! There were 36 on the waiting list for 1-2 no limit, and 10 for 4-8 limit. We waited in the lounge about 30 minutes until our names were called. The lounge is larger than many poker rooms with lots of leather couches and chairs. In the lounge and also at the desk area are large screens with the list of waiting players so you always know where you stand. Don"t plan on going to the casino to play slots while you wait, the loudspeakers don't sound there and they only wait a few minutes before calling the next name on the list. We have only played in OK, LA and CO. Never in Vegas, but I can't imagine a sharper run organization than this one. And for you addicts, there is a smoking lounge also. |
