| Why we love poker ... I think ... I was playing in a private freeroll tonight on Absolute Poker. Although there were 500+ entrants, I was doing okay. I hit a big hand (pocket aces that were not cracked) and suddenly got myself a little breathing room. Late in the tourney, I wussed out on the chance to draw for an open-ended straight on the river. Just didn't feel the card coming and didn't want to take a major hit to my stack. Of course, the card I needed came up! Next, I had a straight and went all in. Someone called, and hit a 3-outer on the river to end up with a better straight than me. I built my stack back up, then went all in after the flop on my big blind with two pair. I got called, and got rivered again. Out of tournament in place #19. Tourney paid top 18 places, so I spent three hours only to be the bubble boy. I complained and moaned to my wife. Right before bedtime, I get on PokerHost and go to a $1/$2 no limit table. Hit two good hands, and 16 minutes after starting, I am up $100. You just never know ... |
