I started playing poker about three years ago on paradise poker. I learned the basics there but wanted to play more freerolls. Now i play on fulltilt and pokerstars and every now and then on bodog. I love the setup that fulltilt has as far as freerolls and and free qualifing tourneys go. I seem to do better for real money on pokerstars. Gl and see you at thetables

PokerStarsPokerStars is one of the best sites to play online poker. They accept US players & using PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT you get a $75 bonus.

PPParty Poker is probably the best known online poker room. Use the Party Poker bonus code CC500 for a 100% upto $500 deposit bonus.

My grandmother use to play poker with us when I was little. We would play 5 or 7 card stud. Or draw. She was very mean about it, never would let us win. So we would lose our antes and the pots all the time. Eventually though we caught on. I hadn't played texas hold-em at all until about 5 years ago. I downloaded Bugsy's Club software and have been hooked ever since. I've been getting better, have come in second in a tourney and won $250.00. Haven't won since. I realize there is a lot of things I still need to learn about the game. But since it is such a great game, I still want to continue to learn!

I became aware of poker by watching a television show on German TV where some celebrities were playing a tourney. It looked like fun, so I started to learn the rules by reading some pages on the web. Soon later I discovered about online poker, downloaded a client (the first one was Everest poker) and soon became sort of addicted.

I learnt to play with my family. Every time there was a family get together we'd have a night of poker - only small money though. But from then on i have loved it and played it ever since.

I learned to play online. I basically got killed for the first year or so before it started to "click." I slowly picked up on wagering and tried to read as much as I could. I may still get killed at the tables on occasion, but when my chips are all in, I am very seldomly behind in the hand...

I learned to play when I was a kid. My mother's cousin used to come over on Saturdays and he would let us win money so we would have spending money.

I learned watching at family parties. My dad and all my uncles as well as older cousins played all the time. I am of Italian heritage so there was always a lot of family at the get togethers. And the men would play.

got into online play only about a year ago.
brag: ive done the chris fergusson challenge... twice! :-D
only bad thing is, i cashed out and started from zero again. its just for fun on my free time though so its all good:-)

I learned the basics of the game a year ago watching the WSOP on tv, i really enjoied watching the game so i started playing in my home against my brothers, but it didn't last long because they get tired of playing. In my country poker is not a very played game like in U.S.

About a month ago i downloaded everest poker and started playing the free sitngos with a very little knowledge of the game, i've managed to make $0,45.Then i swich to ring games and make that into $7 (was very lucky).
You can imagine that i was getting very excited, my first experience in online poker and i make $7 out of nothing!!
So i went to play more ring games, putting more cash on the tables and finally i end up loosing it all.
Now i'm still learning the game, that's why i joined this forum.

I've learned playing at tropical poker.
They had nice freeroll all day long, unfortunatly they had suddenly closed down. Never found out why.
After that moved on to dawghouse poker and Partypoker.
Still learning the game!

Goodluck for all

Used to watch WSOP and tv shows. Then decided to buy one of the semi decent clay-metal feeling chip sets and from then have started a big poker tourney trend in my area. Worked out for the good : D. Only like 5-10 dollar buy in but those tourneys can go for hours.

When i was a kid, and even before i was born, my family played poker (and other card games) every single friday and saturday night, and my uncle was actually a semi professional, i dont remember his name other than uncle freddie, but i used to sit on his lap when i was maybe 4 or 5 and watch him play, and he started teaching me during that time. He unfortunately passed away when i was 8 though, and then when i turned maybe 10 or 11 i started playing 5 card stud with my family and friends, even betting money. I had won so much money from my family during one summer that i was able to purchase a PSONE the day it came out, with a game as well lol. But i never played holdem until i went to poker dealing school back in 2001, after about 2 weeks of poker dealing school i was playing holdem online and at my local indian reservation casino, where i later started dealing at. So yeah, thats pretty much how i started playing =)

I first learned how to play 5 card draw poker as a teenager in the 80's in Los Angeles, CA. with my high school buddies. I never really got hooked into poker though until the Rounders & Chris Moneymaker era.
That's when I first learned about Texas Hold'Em and Doyle Brunson and the like. I quickly got hooked into learning how to play NLHE and my first poker website to learn the basics on was PartyPoker.
I soon realized that Full Tilt and Pokerstars had better layouts that suited my tastes and I am now (5 years later) on Full Tilt poker almost exclusively.
My first time at the Commerce Casino was exciting and profitable. I did very well for my first real live $100.00 cash game. I ended up walking out with almost $500.00. I even shook hands with Dan Harrington!
The only real reason that I miss Los Angeles is for the Commerce casino, GREAT POKER CASINO i.m.h.o. If you are ever in Los Angeles and love poker, you must visit the Commerce casino.
