PokerStarsPokerStars is one of the best sites to play online poker. They accept US players & using PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT you get a $75 bonus.

PPParty Poker is probably the best known online poker room. Use the Party Poker bonus code CC500 for a 100% upto $500 deposit bonus.

Interesting question!
Most of us are still learning this game! When I saw this game on TV a few years ago,I told myself "This is easy!" Then I was start to play online last year and I realize -"isn't that easy".
When I played live,at the table,I realize that I don't know nothing!!!
For me this is a lifetime learning game!

I started to watch poker on TV. You know the WPT tours where there is no good player and loser commentators. I thought it was fun and started to play and now i'm prety good at it. I won about 200$ at school and about 50$ on freerolls. But online poker doesnt define your talent as a poker player as it is really unfair.

Online!!!! Well that is where I started and like most new players, I figured going all in every hand was the way to go. You learn the hard way quickly!!!!

But the best way to learn is to watch other people play. I have spent hours just watching the replays on Pokerstars. They are a great learning tool.

My hubby taought me to play about 4 years ago. Then we started playing at friends house like every other night until we discovered Full Tilt. We played about a year with play money until we got the guts to deposit real cash. Ohhh boy and then i was "hooked"..lol...About 2 years after I learned how to play i tried my first live limit table...omg I was sooo scared...but it went good and poker has become a huge part of my life.
Btw, I started playing on FT because that was the only big site with a software for Mac computer, until a few months back Pokerstars finally fixed up their Mac version. Now I'm palying on both!

used to play nickle/dime poker with friends back in H.S. Didn't play for years until my son (10 and living with his mom) introduced me to P.S. and Texas Holdem. He now plays with us in our friday night neighborhood games.

I originally learned with my grandmother and cousin when we were like 5 or 6. lol
Then lately I have learned advanced techniques (so I think lol) online.
I play tons of poker online, but for some reason I still like live better.

Learning as I go.

I actually began playing about 5 yrs. ago with some buddies and had never seen a wsop event on tv. After I began playing, I started watching these wsop events on tv and really started understanding the game more. But once I started playing online, i read through all kind of tutorials from pros while playing which has really helped my game.

Saw a lot of fights.. played a lot of pool...been in alot of fights... got married ... stopped fighting ..stopped goin to the bar..started to play poker.... seemed like a much more peaceful way to make a buck(Got in a lot of those fights over hustling a pool game lol).....been running ever since...i guess my earlist memory has to be playing 5 card draw on the bus for lunch money lol

I also learned to play online. When I lived in the States, 7-card stud was the game, and that's what I played in the casinos. Holdem became THE game after I moved back home (Cyprus) and I started playing on PartyPoker.

I saw the WPT and started to get an interest for the game. But those times were economically rough for me and just stuck to watching it on TV for about 1 year.

It wasn't until the beginning of this year that I actually started playing online free rolls then a few months later began with micro tables. Last month i started playing live and have done pretty well. Online playing has helped me very much with my live playing. Where I go they play very loose so Its almost like playing in the free rolls. I get to kick but and bring cash home 2 out of 3 days a week I go.

I learned from watching poker on tv with my brothers, we would discuss different hands and such. From there I went online and played in freerolls and play chips, then progressed to playing for money either with friends or online.

I always threw chips in for my dad when i was little. But when I was 12 I begged him to let me play with him and his friends. He said no untill one week his half-drunken friends said.."come on his money is good here."
SO the first hand I played (dealers choice) was in between. You know where you get two cards and you wager how ever much you want that the next card will fall between them. If you match one of your cards you pay double. I had Q 3 so I said pot (171$$$$$) and won. They played everything 5 stud 5 draw 7 stud omaha 3 card guts with a ghost hand (to keep pot going up) I live for poker!!!
