Wow cant believe how young u all are.

I learned to play in the college cafeteria (never took any classes) where we cleaned the fish w games like stud, hi lo (declare), draw and guts.

That was over 30 years ago.

Still winning, but you holdem TV kids gave me a bit of a learning curve.

I played off and on with friends and such, but never really got into it until an old boss of mine showed me party poker and thrilled me with his ability to turn a $10 dollar sng into $50 bucks in a matter of minutes, I started paying half the buy ins and splitting the profits, eventually I started playing on my own and have been happily addicted since.

Ive been playing cards all my life practically, as a kid i played brag and other games with grandparents, aunts and uncles for pennies. As I got older I played stud and other games with friends and work collegues. As for Holdem I started playing about 4-5 years ago after watching it on TV, soon after I started playing online.

A couple of years ago I tuned in to Celebrity Poker Showdown with Phil Gordon. Watched a couple of episodes and found myself playing online at Tilt for playmoney chips and 900 seat freerolls.

I have never played live. All of my experience is online. I don't have the guts to put big money in. I don't think I would have a good poker face.....lol. Online is great though. Goodluck in the live games and get into the WSOP

I learned to play in Boone North Carolina at teh local VFW. They sponsored my boyfriends dart tournaments, which would last 9 hrs, in the back room was a bunch of old guys playing ten dollar ring games, and they invited me to play on sundays, I didn't win for three months straight and then a little after that. Then it was on!

My Uncle and Cousin started playing in tournaments. They always talked about holdem and how much fun it was. After hearing their excitement for the game, I decided to look at tutorials online. It wasn't long after that I incorporated pot odds and outs etc. into my playing style.

I learned when I was a little kid. Played with a few of my friends and some old guys in the neighborhood. We played nothing but stud and draw back then. I made a ton of money playing drunks as a teenager. Didn't learn how to play Hold 'em until just a few years ago...learned from people I met online but we played live. I learned Omaha & Razz on full tilt and 2/7 triple draw on Pokerstars.

I started really young. Gambling came about when I was 15 first off with Rummy and then progressed into poker. We all had jobs in high school so every weekend we would play poker till the sun came up. This was back in the 80s before holdem was so popular. We played a lot of variations ofstud.
