When pokerstars hits home You get use to ppl bluffing crazy stuff on-line, or calling crazy shit. But when your among the regulars you play with each week you would expect good play. I was on the big blind...had J 6 off suit...Js 4c 6h came on the flop none suited...bet comes across and i re-raise (blinds at that time was $1/$2, the bet made was $2 and I raised it another $6)...turn was 8c...I bet $5...was raised $4 more...knew I had better hand so i go all-in...he calls...shows Qc 4c...i couldn't believe it, relying on a pair of 4's with a flush draw to go all-in...of course the river coughed out an 8c giving them the flush...a play straight out of pokerstars or any on-line site(dont want to point the finger at only 1 site). Oh well...poker new age of playing...its to be expected nowadays...real poker is becoming a lost art.

It sure is..relying on a pair of fours and then fishing for that flush...I personally wouldnt have done that..I also believe that poker has some what changed over the years..people call with a 4 6..who plays a 4 6 even suited? Some one may have a higher card for a flush..unbelievable Cali

i think poker is better now than ever people now take more risks instead of always waiting to get a pocket pair or 2 high cards they bet with whatever they want to and why not remember its a card game and you never know whats gonna come out.i hate folding a hand then finding out after the flop i would of had a chance of winning, not any more if you get a 5 2 off suit or a 7 2 why not take a risk sometimes.you never know.ask yourself how many times you,ve seen people with AA pre-flop and still lose?

thecat - you keep praying, um er, I mean playing that way and I will keep taking the pot with good hands that actually have merit. I know it sucks to toss a 2 5 and to see a flop of 2 2 5, but you are not playing smart. You see the more money at the end of the night you have the better.

There is only one way to solve the odds skewed thing. Somebody needs to get hand tracking software and play 10,000 hands a month for a year and check the percentages. Anybody wanna sponsor me I volunteer

re: When pokerstars hits home Unfortunately it's the way of online poker in tournaments, try playing a real money ring game and see if he's willing to put up his whole account vs. some chips he bought in for 2 bucks. People are afraid to throw anything down now seems. NOTE to the newbies.... It's ok to throw paint away with crappy kickers!! Just because you see a pretty picture on the card doesn't mean go all in with a J-2 offsuit. You'll be better off in the end.
