Here's a link to a press release on Poker Listings:

Sounds like you can now "run it twice" on cash tables too, which would be cool once in awhile.

Interesting idea, though like their Matrix tournaments I dunno if they'll take off

Full explanation here: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/cashout-tournaments

Basically they split each buy in, half goes to the standard prize pool and half goes to the cashout prize pool. What I find interesting is that you can do a partial cashout - dumping say half of your chips, taking the cash equivalent of them and then continuing to play for the rest of your stack.

It's only for tournies with a "c" icon beside it....I like the concept for tourny play if someone accidently on purpose drops in and u have 2 split all of a sudden...lol :P etc

That seems like an interesting idea with the cashout tournaments. I'll have to play one and check it out. Also it's nice to have run it twice as well, but I doubt it will be used at lower stakes.

This is very interesting and odd. I'm not sure what to think or how you would even come up with that idea.

I think i will definitely try this at least once it sounds interesting,if your in it to win it this shouldnt make much difference. But some people just playing for fun maybe cant stay up till 4 am in the morning and if you have a big stack its nice to be able to cash out for a large amount still if they are getting tired or have to work early.

Why would anyone have a problem with this? If the tourney runs longer than you thought, you have to pick up your kid, you get called into work early, you get sick, you hear of a killer party, you get called up by a hot date, etc., etc., etc., being able to CASH OUT of the tourney early is a perfect idea.

Again, why would anyone have a problem with this?

I don't have a problem with them, however i doubt I will play them because it seems like the winnings are spread out over alot more players, thus making smaller winnings for the same rake.I could just play a SNG if I wanted a short tourney.

I may change my mind if I have a different understanding of them later.

sounds interesting , guess it has its good & bad points, like,if in the 1st. hour you can get to 20,000 you could cash out 10,000 of them and still be in good shape w/ the 10,000 you still got, i have been over 20,000 before the first break before, so i could understand why it would be good in that situation,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,buck

Hi All,

I think a cashout is a good idea. Many times I have had to drop a tourney and run out the door. Maybe I had to get to the bank before it closed or maybe I had to pick up somone...just having the chance to get some money back instead of blinding out seems like a good idea. I wish they had it sooner.

It's kinda like a reverse rebuy.

Yes! Exactly! It is kind of like a reverse re-buy. The pay outs are less, so if you make it to a certain point, take your buy-in back and play with the remainder of your chips. That is what I try to do. Key word-- Try! There is a $10 Cashout on FT in the afternoons. Good times.

I tell you what... I would not be the least bit surprised if they cut it real soon... Nice idea but just like with 2 7.... takes away from the game...

My Two Cents,
Moe
