What face cards to play?

I have upped my limits at PS to 10/25 and doing quite well so far but in m/ late position, would you play hands like J8?

Because they only thing you could really expect is to hit the Jack, but with only middle strength kicker - is it really worth it?

So what type of kickers should I play as a bare minimum ? What would you play ? Obviously I wouldn't call any kind of raise with it but would you limp with it ?

I have a friend who insists that J-8 suited RULES. I'm so convinced that I fold it almost every time, regardless of position.

Would you play K8?

I would only play a J if it was accompanied with a T in m/l and no PR!

It really depends on your reads.

If you've got tight players behind you, I might raise J8, take one stab at the flop, then dump it.

Anytime, but especially when you've got weak support, you've got to be careful, but in position you get to see what the other players do. If someone is already representing a J, I'd fold most of the time, again depending on any reads.

But, you're talking late position, and some people will play any hand above a 50 percentile ranking.

K8 more likely if it's suited in a multiway limped pot. Looking for a big hand, or get out.

IMO m/late IF NO ONE HAS ENTERED, offers occasional plays with hands like J8. Someone once called it a floating steal.

With 3 or 4 players yet to act, you are essentially bluffing with weak outs.

Only play hands where the cards' blackjack value totals 13.
