I opened an account at Celeb Poker on the ipoker network yesterday. I have been playing the step tournements and have an issue with the rake and points system they have. I have been in touch with support at Celeb Poker and they couldnt give me an answer . The situation is as follows, ive been playing steps on most networks as its a good way to work down a bonus and get tickets to high buy in tournements for a low outlay, ive played the steps on
Pokerstars, Fulltilt, the
Ongame network, Micro Gaming Network,Everest Poker etc and they all work the same. For example, If i played a step 1 on Fulltilt at $3.00+$0.30 buy in, i would get 3 points, as the rake is 30c. If i won the step 2 ticket/token valued at $8.00+$0.70, then played it, i would get another 7 points, as the rake is 70c, or if i played a step 1 on Pokerstars at $7.50, i would get 2.75 points, then if i won a step 2 ticket valued at $27, $25+$2, i would get 11 points and so on. On the ipoker network, if i buy in at $1.00+$0.10 step 3 for example, i get 1.5 points for the $0.10 rake. If i won a ticket/token to the $3.00+$0.30 Step 4, they dont give you any points, as they say its a token. they say they online give the points if the cash came directly from your account. I have never heard of this before, on there site it says you get points for the rake you have paid. The ticket/token is worth $3.00+$0.30, only $3.00 goes into the pool, the $0.30 goes to Celeb Poker, so why is that not considered rake? At the end of the day, if a
poker site is taking an amount of money from a pool, wheather it is from a token or cash, is it not considered rake? I have explained the situation to support at Celeb Poker and they couldnt answer the question, they just keep saying its a token, you dont get any points from it. When it gets to a step 7, which the buy in is $50+$5, they are taking $5 from every player, but the player doesnt get the points from it. Like i mentioned earlier, every other site i have played at, gives you the points, as they are still taking rake from a ticket/token, can you let me know what you think about this issue, as i believe they are in the wrong, i believe they advertise one thing and are doing the other, rake is rake!
