VEGAS, HERE I COME....

Hey Every1,
The job is sending me to Vegas tomorrow, so on the off chance that I actually get to play alittle Poker, where are your favorite spots to play? This will only be my 2nd time in Sin City, the 1st time I barely scratched the surface. Itz also the Heads Up Tournament weekend, so Im hoping to run into some of the big gunz

I have never been, but playing in a real poker room is SOOOO much more fun, and you'll find probably easier than playing online. Good luck man.

Work and Vegas... what an awesome combination... I was at InterOp last year and managed to play 3 tournaments in 2 days.

Vegas thread you might find helpful here.

Binions ftw, imo.

But any of the strip casinos should have some soft action at the lower limits. I think the Venetian has the nicest room in terms of ambiance/space.

Hey you can check my Blog where I list all my recommended Rooms to check out in Vegas including games played and Limits.

There are a couple surprises in there Im sure....

Good Luck

PS I may have to add some or all of the Station Casino Rooms soon...as the combination of the Super Jackpots >250K they offer (linked to all the rooms) and the really nice rooms at Red Rock and Green Valley make this a nice out of the way place to play.

My dad lives in vegas and I have been several times. We always play @ Sam's Town - where mostly locals and serious players are at. Not as Glitzy as the strip, but well worth it to escape the rude (and lucky) drunks. The play is consistant and you get more return on your money. If you want to catch loose fish, then Caesar's is the best. Be prepared to take the bad beats with the good!

I once saw a final table at Caesar's tourney (7PM $120 NLHE) go for over two hours before one of the 9 busted out. I'm pretty sure they were all ITM. I was starting the 11PM tournament and they were still at it at midnight.

Bunch of older guys just swapping blinds.

I was speaking of cash games, not tourneys. I never took the time to watch those. Another word to the wise - Do not attempt BlackJack with tourists! They get so lucky while screwing up the decks for others! They play for themselves and Not the benefit of the table...i.e. dealer bust outs..

This is one of the biggest myths in blackjack. In fact, it doesn't matter what the other players at the table do-- they are just as likely to save you as doom you. You cannot predict the next card out of the shoe, and there is no such thing as "taking the dealer's bust card". The cards are not in some magical order, whereby if everyone plays correctly the table will in. Just play your own hand according to the correct basic strategy, and don't worry about the other players.

re: VEGAS, HERE I COME....

Living in LA I get to Vegas about twice a year. There are a couple of good spots to play cash games if you are strictly interested in grinding a profit - Excalibur and (oddly enough) Imperial Palace. The rooms there are notorious for drunks walking in, getting taken out, and leaving in a sick revolving door method.

I'm not a genius with 1/2 NL , but I play a solid game and have not once lost money playing there.

Tournaments in Vegas are tricky. Some just aren't worth the hassle since the blind structure is out of wack. Caesar's runs some top notch tournaments. All in all there are also great rooms to play in at Treasure Island and MGM ... and if you're a baller and want to play against some Sharks try you hand at the Wynn or Bellagio or Caesars cash games.
