Hello to all,

I'm not a newbie to Poker, but I am taking Poker more serious than I ever have. I live in FL and the only option that I have playing online is Bovada. A lot of people don't like Bovada because of the anonymous player structure they're developed. I don't mine this because it forces me to learn the math of poker to make better sound decisions. Can anyone make some recommendations as to what tools can be used in order to study hand history to further perfect my play? Please advise.

Thanks.

In the same boat

I also play on Bovada. I am like you, not a beginner but taking it more seriously in the last few months (reading discussions on here, reading books, watching videos and using the play money games on pokerstars to try out strategies). Maybe I am in the minority but I don't take notes on players or really even pay attention to their styles until it gets to the last couple tables. It would be interesting to compare notes with you and possibly setup a tourney we could play in together. I also like playing live tourneys in Tulsa. Best I have done on Bovada is 6th out of 185 and a couple of final tables on 45 person SnG.

Post hand histories of hands you played in the proper section for analysis.

Make sure to include all info such as stack sizes, info on villain (if applicable, like you have played a while with him, whatever), position of you and all other players, and leave out the result of the hand.

This can be very helpful in identifying your leaks. It can also help you learn the correct lines to take in various spots.

That is where I would start if I were you.

I have learned that position is very key on Bovada. C-Bet's have worked better for me on this site than any other site ever. May just be my opinion, but I wanted to put my 2 cents in. Thanks

I don't know about HH on Bovada but Holdem Indicator is a good hud for Bovada.

If you are trying to review your HH's from Bovada, i definitely recommend Bovada HH Converter by Ace Poker Solutions. It converts the hands so that you can import them into PT4 or HM2.

I use OnlinePokerManager. It's a free program developed by a 2+2 forum member. It can be a little buggy at times, but has been a great study aid for me, especially because you can take notes on every street of a hand.

A friend and I use it to compare stats, review HHs, and try to spur each other on to reach our bankroll goals.

A couple of problems I've found:

-It doesn't import my SnG HHs, so I have to enter them manually.
-Same with ZonePoker HHs, but I tend to steer clear of that format.
-A replayer error or two that I've reported to the dev.

I plan to go with a HH converter and PokerTracker at some point, but the free tool has been great in the meantime.

Why do you say this is your only option? AFAIK all US-facing sites are available to Florida residents.

Personally, I wouldn't play on Bovada even if it were the last site open to US players.

It is probably the only site I would play at if I still had time to play online - maybe he meant that for him personally there was no other option. For online tournaments the anonymous factor wouldn't scare me off and their withdrawal process is great which would be important to me.

But OP I can't help you with your question since I rarely play there (or anywhere online).

Other than HH, is there any software where you can see how often your opp. call/fold/raise etc? Anything that gives you an advantage?

Im new to online again and if there is something out there like this I'd like to try it.

Online Poker Manager Bugs Fixed

This is an old thread, but I am the developer of online poker Manager and the list of bugs below have all been fixed. If you have any questions on the software, let me know.
