US Poker Sites - Freerolls

I was checking on the internet to see where the best freerolls were on the net and they had PokerStars listed as third. I don't know about anyone else but I think PS is one of the hardest sites to qualify for freerolls.
It's better now that 99 places are given out to qualify instead of the old 27, and you have two weekly tourneys to choose from, but out of 12,000 this is still a feat. I think USA poker sites like Absolute Poker where at most you have a field of 5,000 and you need to place 63rd or better has better odds of winning.

Sites like Pokerstars & Ultimate Bet where you have to qualify during the week to be able to play in a weekly freeroll is just plain tough to get an increase in your bankroll. BoDog is cool, but it seems to take quite a long time to per game to place in, but the payoff is higher cause the pot is bigger ($500 or $1000) without having to place in two tourneys. How do you guys feel about freerolls out there? Where are the best freerolls to try to increase one's bankroll efficiently? Holla back......

DO NOT make the mistake of playing public freerolls, they are a complete waste of time.
EXCEPT bodog, which runs $500 and $1000 freerolls daily. Some people say fulltilt has good freerolls, they are wrong. Fulltilt freerolls have 2,700 entrants and 1st pays $15.

Try to play private freerolls like the ones here at CC. They have a better payout with less entrants and there are loads of them. Just look under the "private tournaments" tab on most poker sites, and you will see all the private tourneys that require passwords. Usually, you just have to sign up on a site to get the passwords.

Pokerstars is the worst site out there for freerolls, but probably the best for players with a micro BR. They have stakes as low as 1c2c NL and Limit 2c4c.

So my advice is, play private freerolls until you have a BR of $15-$30, then move to pokerstars and let the grinding begin. It is possible, you just need patience and good BR management. Ive done it plenty of times. Ive made about $1200 online without ever making a deposit.

GL!

I love playing the freerolls at carbon poker. It's only a $50 freeroll every 4 hours, but it's limited to 1500 people. And the quality of play for a freeroll seems to be alot better. But don't get me wrong you still have your freeroll retards lol

Agree, Private Freerolls are the best. However, you have to keep in touch with the public freerolls occasionally. In each of our minds is that illusive dream of the huge win, and it will play more like a public freeroll than anything else.

re: US Poker Sites - Freerolls

I've come close to cashing in the full tilt freerolls, but finishing 31st when 27 cash is just a slap in the face, esp. when playing HORSE. The Private freerolls are definitely more worth your time. sign up to a site, meet the people on it, then just wait to get invited. Patience, if you want to start grinding w/o making a deposit, it pays off in the long run.

Thanks 4aces

Cool advice 4aces!! the only thing is, to play in those private freerolls don't you have to meet posting requirements and chat online with others like we do here on cardschat? That would be alot of chatting and forum posting, maybe hard to keep track of.

I really like cardschat because it was the second poker forum I posted to, and the other was dry and not alot of postings that were of interest to me, and they seemed to be less frequent postings. Cardschat is cool and the people here seem so cool, and there is always someone posting something new.

GO CARDSCHAT!!!

Thanx 4aces07 - that is great advice and that is what I have done over the last 7 months. I have a bankroll on 8 or 9 different sites of at least $10 - $15 on most of them with 1 site over $100. And yes to the bankroll management. What i will do is get in a $.01 - .02 game and when I have at least doubled my buy -in, I leave that table and go to another and start over. Sometimes, I will move up to the next level whether it be $.02 - .04 or $.05 - .10 and attempt to do more building.

Geez, bubbling out of a 2700 player FTP HORSE tourney is wickedly painful. You had like what - 5 to 6 hours in to it?

re: US Poker Sites - Freerolls

Does anyone know a good way to make it into private freerolls? The last one I played was through Tucker Max's website a few years ago and it was awesome. Placed 200th and won $55. Where else can you gain entry to private freerolls?

The only way is to join the groups that sponsor them. Almost all your forums have them and Full Tilt has them. The ones at Full Tilt you have to look through the forum to find the password and that can take awhile.
