Urgh, collusion

This was not the worst kind of collusion, but it still ticked me off. I was all-in (short-stacked with less than the amount of either blind) on the bubble of getting another qualifier entry, and there were four other players in the pot. One guy kept saying "check" to tell the others not to bet and make it easier to get me out.

Well, duh, of course that's the best thing for them all to do, but you're not allowed to actually say that during game play!

Was this online? Report them - they can be disqualified for that. Checking down is okay, but talking about it isn't.

Yes, it was online. I don't think the guy realized it was a "no no," so I'm not sure I'd want to get him in trouble by reporting him, but I wouldn't have minded educating him about it and giving him a piece of my mind at the same time.

It didn't help that I was already kicking myself for making a nearly all-in call on the previous hand and losing when I had enough of a stack to have simply folded/played conservatively into a better finishing position. Ah, well... "note to self" on that one.

One thing I've seen a PS, is when someone raises and gets reraised and the origional raiser folds, they say "F**k folded 88".

Thus giving free imformation to others...

Ok. First off, this isn't collusion.

Second, Stars would have only have given him a warning via email after the tourney was over anyway. They only have mods for inappropriate language because they're not used for illegal play or chat by players who can royally keep screwing someone over in the same tournament hand after hand, even if it it's his second offense and has already been warned.

IMHO....he signed up the account and agreed to the TOS and site rules. His ignorance of those rules is not a valid defense. I'd report him. Plus then he'll get the education you mentioned.

If this is Stars/FT and it is the culprit's first offence, they will merely send them a warning.

There also of course is the possibility it isn't his first offence, in which case he deserves whatever he gets. You have no reason not to report him.
