When you are on a downswing, there is a tendency to become short-tempered and then, of course, your judgement suffers and matters become worse rather than better. Take a break. Don`t play for a week. Go back to your favourite poker book or article. Re-read and, when you start again, go back to basics.

Whenever I feel that I am not playing up to my potential I take a break and dont play for atleast 2 or 3 days. Getting away seems to make my judgement go back to normal almost immediately when I come back. Also, if I suffer a string of really bad beats, I immediately quit and just think to myself, oh well, it happens sometimes and I wait til the next day to start playing again. I used to go crazy when I got bad beat and just start throwing money away. I have learned that if I take a couple bad beats in a row I just lose it and I have to remove myself for atleast a few hours before I can play smart again. I know people say you should just forget about a bad beat, but it is very hard to do unless you take your mind off poker for awhile. Also, if you know someone else that you believe is a good poker player that you are good friends with ask him/her to play a game with you online. Me and my roommate frequently play tournaments jointly online (both of us sit at the same computer playing one account, not colluding or anything) and we usually do better than when we just play alone because you have two perspectives on every situation. Also, if you ever feel like getting a game going on bodog, send me a pm I play there all the time. Mostly 5.00 + .50 single table SnG but sometimes play cash as well

Take a break. Yeah, you need to take a break. After you lose with the best hand it makes you start to play worse. Right now you're probably just calling any hands and not caring if you have the best hand since the memory of losing with the best hand is still fresh in your memory. After a break, you'll start to play really well again I think...GOOD LUCK!
