Unable to grind on Bodog

Has anyone been able to grind out a bankroll on Bodog using any method apart from cash games ?

Their multi-table SNG's seem to hardly ever run.

Thx

Grinder,
I have found Bodog to be a perplexing site. The bad beats seem to be much more frequent than any other site I have tried. I had some pretty good success early playing in MTTs, especially the old 8K guaranteed (no longer exists). Although the play is poor at times (plenty of hyper-aggressive fish), it just seems to me that they get paid off more than usual.
All that being said, I love the graphics and value in their guaranteed tourneys.
Lemme know what you think.

Imo the bodog has the best bankroll sngs ever. The beginner sngs are great and you can built fairly quickly with very little risk. They range from $2 to $32 and the play at the $2, $4, and $8 is not too good. There are a few regs but not much to worry about. I personally have ran about 27% roi in these believe it or not.

I also don't like bodog myself...

I suggest to try an other site like PS or FT or something. Where you can play as many tables you can handle every time of the day...

I'm also finding Bodog to be a tough site to cocentrate on..could be the less ppl factor and the software is garbage.
What's a good MTT from Bodog?

Thats the problem with these smaller sites that there SNG's take ages to fill up as for PS or FT there SNG's tend to fill up pretty quickly since at a peak time they have above 80k players on the site....
Never played on Bodog and not arsed bout it as it doesnt attract me to any good features. If i had to pick a site apart from PS or FT i'd have to go with Betfair, PKR or PartyPoker ATM IMO.

There sit and go's are a joke now that they took away the mtt guaruntees, I waited yesterday at 7 pm almost an hour to find any sit n go with a buy in between 20 and 50 bucks. I'm done they ruined the site...

Beginner sit and gos are clearly the best way to go. Especially if you are willing to grind as you say. They pay top 5 have buyins of 2+.20 , 4+.40, 8+.80.

Pay as follows:

2
6 5 4 3 2

4
12 10 8 6 4

8
24 20 16 12 8

Not sure what your stakes are so this may be too low for you.
Basicaly though you only need to be better than half the people at the table and you get your money back.

re: Unable to grind on Bodog poker

I disagree that the software is garbage, in fact it is one of the things that I like best. But the RNG program they use seems a bit out of tune with reality, imo. Their guaranteed MTTs were pretty awesome in the past, but they have been degraded a bit.
Their Beginner SNGs and the $10 cash games are pretty easy pickins, though. The terrible beats keep the fish throwin their money in!

i make the majority of my money at Bodog im there Guaranteed MTT`s, there was a good 1, $12. buyin everyday at 11am, 5,000 starting chips, 2K guarantee, but now they changed it to 2 pm and its $30.+3. to get in now, same deal 5,000 chips and 2K guarantee, just costs 3 times more now, lol, everyday it was between 100 & 150 players, now its about 50 players,, i hope they change it back the way it was, buck
played it today, but i Crapped out,,,lol

bodog guarantees

Buckste

Bodog still has the $12 super stack at 11 am est it is just a $500 guaranteed instead of 2k. The $30 super stack at 2 pm est used to be the 4k now it is the 2k. I don't know why bodog has cut back so muck on the guarantees.

I always used to like bodogs mtts the best because there were small and manageable fields but they are getting so small it isn't worth the time.

Why do you like em when they are small? If they are bigger you can win more money. Or are you not confident enough of your mtt skills that you can beat the majority of the players?

I've played on bodog for months now, and I'll be honest, I do very poorly there it seems. Part of the problem I think is the players there tend to be fairly poor at the 10nl tables, in fact some seem to have absolutely no concept of smart poker, I dont even get surprised when I get a bad beat on there either because it happens so frequently.

The software on the other hand I love, so i disagree that it is poor. Of course I'm judging be aesthetics only, I really love the feel of the room. The interface looks very good.

To make a short story long, I would recommend the site to anyone who can deposit a good amount and move around the 25-100nl, that seems to be where the moneys at on there. (As far as cash games)

Bodog is a hard site to start a bankroll on without completely throwing bankroll management out the window...

Their lowest stakes cash game is 10NL, whereas most sites have 2NL and 5NL as well in the micros.

Their lowest regular buyin SNG is a 45-man $1+.20 SNG, which takes absolutely forever to fill up. The lowest SNG to actually fill up in an adequate amount of time is $2+.20(also whereas a lot of sites will have .50+.05 or at least $1+.10). The one thing I like is the beginner tournaments just because it gives some of those people with the small rolls a 50% chance to at least make their money back.

As far as their MTTs, they are about the same as SNGs, their lowest public tournament being $3+.30 at the time that I looked.

I have quite a bit of money on Bodog, not from deposits, but just from my winnings in the CC tourneys, that I in turn used to grind the 10NL tables, which are easy as hell by the way. Bodog is definitely not my favorite site, probably ranking about #4 on my list, but I guess since I have money on there, I will continue to play....

Yeah Ive noticed that when looking for MTT it looks like it will take WAY too long to start with one player joining every 5 minutes or so. + I joined a $4 STT and we were waiting for 6 players for what seemed like forever and I couldnt figure out how to unregister so I just had to wait.

I also like the software. And have to agree that overall play is generally weak. Probably the reason for all the bad beats talked about. Ive had a few as well, but cant say more than anywhere else.

Ive never deposited on Bodog though. I started my bankroll there with a 6th place finish for $15.50 in the $500 FR.

But your right! Your not going to be able to get many MTT's going so your best bet is in the STT's which fill up alot quicker.

the good ol days

Bodog's guaranteed MTT's used to be great value with massive overlays. Then they went and re-asjusted everything, either lowering the guarantee or raising the buy-in, so the overlays are pretty much extinct now .

I actually got quite a bit of a stimulus on Bodog today. They have a Trivia question on Twitter and the first one to answer gets $162 in tourney $$, well I won today, so that was the biggest news. Then I was just farting around waiting for another tournament to start and I won a $2.20 SNG. Then I played in the $8+.80 tourney and took 8th in it(last paid place) for $15.75. So I think by bitching about Bodog the other day, I reverse jinxed myself, being up essentially $175 on the day... Maybe I should do the same thing with FT, lol.

Haha, well it is working fine, but I am playing outside of my limits, which is never a good thing... All you have to do is rub your lucky rabbits foot every time you go all-in and you will be golden.

One of the sites I've never played cash games on. Played a few SNGs but found them tough compared to other sites. Prefer the small buy-in multi-table tourneys, the cardschat tourneys, and the $500 fr for building a bankroll. Made it to about $600 like that but have withdrawn most of that now.
