There are a lot of folks in my area that play there and there is a dealer there that is from this area. He comes down here on weekends a lot and deals at our local card club in the $1/$2 game. From all the talk it seems that the games at TS can be very loose and wild. Please give us a trip report when you get back.

I've been there plenty of times, and yes, the $1/$2 games can be wild. The game I began playing when I turned 18 was 100NL at 1/2. At only 50 big blinds, there's not a whole lot of room for anything fancy. The 200NL game with the same blinds, is the one that can be extremely loose but very profitable. I'm actually planning on playing limit tonight. There's a 2/4 game that's usually pretty awful. I've been reading a few books lately on limit, so we'll see how it goes. I'll post later this weekend.

I went to college in Western NY and Turning Stone was my first real poker experience. I used to drive 2 hours every few weekends to get my fix.

There is a new card room and I havn't played there in two years, but from what I can tell you it is a pretty good room. It is loose, and the NL is mostly college kids from all the local schools, which can be very profitable for a good player. Many unexperienced mainly internet guys are playing the low limit NL games there.

You will find the better money, and of course players, on the limit games. The 15/30 and 20/40 were both really good games if you can afford them. I wouldn't play the 2/4 it will mainly be old women drawing on you every hand. Start with the 5/10 at the least to get decent limit action.

No drinks in the casino, so if you are a drinker, be ready for this. Cheap cigarettes and gas because of the tax thing on an Indian reservation. Its a nice poker room, with decent players. (Al Crux used to be a regular when I was playing there a lot) They have a really nice golf course. I'm kinda jealous that your going. I need to get back there for a few days some time soon.

Enjoy, hope this helped.

Ive been to Turning Stone, always lose there playing the 100NL 1/2 game. Since I started playing online and am now multitabling, I dont really like playing live unless Im just playing with friends for fun. It just goes too slow for my taste and I end up making dumb plays out of boredom.
