the tightest tournament ever

in my freeroll playing days, i was a part of a group that just did freerolls, and small money added buy ins. if you finished in the top three of any of these events, you get invited to their semi anual championship match. well, i had a first and second place, so i was in. it took place tonight and i just got knocked out of it, and it was, by far, the tightest group i have ever seen in my life. They were good, don't get me wrong, tight agressive, but just insanely tight. we didn't have a player eliminated for over a half hour at my table, and even then i played with the same five or six guys for almost two hours. there was a running joke at my table, "AK or better". I managed to have the same image, as i was folding a lot, betting strong, and only showing down hands like AA, QQ, and AK, though i was able to steal countless blinds with much worse. I just couldn't win any races, fought my way back three or four times, finished 31 out of 110 (everyone cashed), but if i had my way, I'd play with good freeroll players every day of the week. They were so predictable. play was starting to open up when i left, as the antes were coming out, but even then it was pretty standard. it was a nice change of pace, though, from the donkeys and chasers i usually run into at the tables.

no point to any of this, just wanted to share my evening.
