| SuperSystem 2: Triple Draw The name of the game is Triple Draw! I personally only know of it through SS2 (i'm re-re-re-reading it and forgot that i skipped this section each time because i don't play it, but decided to read it this time) It's played with generally the same structure as 5 Card Draw, at Fixed or Spread limit (like fixed limit, but you can bet 1-4 bets each round instead of just 1 at a time) if the stakes are 200/400 for example, then blinds are posted at 100/200 and: -get dealt 5 cards -betting round (100/200) ensues -then first draw (discard 0-5 cards from your hand) -another betting round (100/200) -then the second draw -another betting round (this time 200/400) -then the last draw -and the last betting round finishes it off (200/400) there are two different kinds of Triple draw (which is a lowball game): deuce to seven, and ace to five deuce to seven: count from highest card down, just like in the lowball half of OH8, but straights and flushes count against you. An ace doesn't count as a 1 though in 2-7 triple draw. ace to five: exactly like the lowball part of OH8, but with one exception; if two players have pairs on the river, then the lowest pair wins the hand (in OH8 if you have a paired lo hand, it doesn't count) Anyways, it sounds like a fun game to me; i might try it in some home game if my buddies are game enough... anybody else played this or has heard of it? Negreanu wrote the section in SS2, and says it is an increasingly popular game; I personally had never heard of it until i read SS2, but it sounds like a good game. |
