Starting from $0

This is for all those CC members who have been or want to try and build a bankroll online from nothing (ala Chris Ferguson)
Update us on the games you played, mistakes you wish you hadn't made, and the progress of your bankroll.
May be update it once a week, or more if you are inclined. And you should always be at the CC free rolls.

I'll start

Dec. 20th - won $2 for an 11th place at a Full Tilt free roll
Dec. 22nd - played .05/.10 nl for 2 hours and got it to $14.95 before going down to $8.20
Then I should have gone to bed but played in a $2+.25 SNG and lost so now I have $5.95 . I should not have started at $2 but couldn't find a $1 game so I saw the $2 open up. Need to have more discipline if this is going to build.

Full Tilt PokerFull Tilt Poker accepts US players. Get a 100% up to $600 deposit bonus and play online poker with the pro's.

Bodog PokerBodog Poker is one of the few poker sites accepting US players that also offers a Sportbook and online casino games.

I hear ya

I have been playing freerolls for almost 2 years now trying to build from nothing and the highest i've gotton was $82 then i lost $50 to a suck out on the river and bubbled in like 6 sngs. Now i'm at .0 in 2 sites .06 in PS and .59 in FT i just can't find a groove. I have recently started playing Ultimatebet poker and it's by far my favorite, less stupidity even in the freerolls. Looking forward to getting back on track, hope you all do good as well just try not to suck out on me lol.

I find that the min. deposit at Full Tilt ($50), which is the only site i can play cos i have a mac, is too small to allow proper bankroll management at their smallest limits. So i got up to $20 playing freerolls, then donked it all away while on tilt yet again!

i'm on my way to build from $0 too, one of the better starting places would be Bodog due to its higher value freerolls, eg. $1000 (once daily) & $500 Guaranteed freerolls (twice daily), the first place pays $220 & $120 respectively. IMO, its definately better then grinding FT daily $100 freeroll and PS weekly freeroll.

re: Starting from $0

I started trying to build my bankroll from nothing in August 2007.
So far:
Bodog = $54.75
Full Tilt = $18.50
Poker Stars = $15.64
Ultimate Bet = $0.00 (lost it all - hoping to replenish at today's tourney)
Absolute = $0.00 (lost it all)
Total = $88.89
I'm using bankroll management techniques, so for right now I can only play the lowest sit-n-gos, although I continue to play the freerolls.

0 to $

I've been doing this. I have never deposited online. Took awhile to get in the swing. Current bankroll over $200, far behind Jesus but working at it. I love Bodog, they do have the best freerolls. now got to resist the $100k game, that's how i lost my bank last time i got over $100, lol. FRW, to the tables.....

Switch, where's the commitment? a weeks nothing, you could be playing more than 4 freerolls a day, and seeing as in your sig, you are a freeroll winner (and a mega uber bottish posting maniac poker genius ) you should at least win 1

I first tried freeroll, but the biggest pot i won was $4
So I started to play with real money.
My first bankroll $50.
I played in ringgames and after a half hour my bankroll was $30.
So I quit with ringgames and now I only play tournaments or sit-gos.
I think there are the best way to earn money.

Man this is going to be tough, ok so i placed in the uk freeroll, in 8th to get 3$. As i havnt played at uber small stakes i didnt really know if it would be different to my normal stakes. But entering the ferguson and falling out early with the damn pock jacks wasnt part of my plan. Not much you can do with 2$ then, so i sat at a ring game, there is nothing you can do with only 2$ in a ring game, if you dont sit down with the max 10$ i dont see how you can do anything. With the 2$, came in on bb and folded to a raise, then folded small blind, about the 7th hand i had a,k, 2 limpers before, so a raise cost me 50 cents, 5 callers to my raise and i dont hit anything so have to fold. I folded another round so i was down to 1.20 without doing much. Then got pock kings, made a raise, only 2 callers for a change. Flop comes t,j,a, so i cbet to represent ace and have straight draw, get a re raise, im commited to call, guy turns over open ended and hits his outs which is fair enough no complaints. But i can now see how this is going to be hard, how did ferguson do it. Ive found im playing more freerollss than real money now try to achieve this

re: Starting from $0

i know its tough...
i've been trying this for a while, and the FT ring games and the like are hard to profit off if you go in with like $3. The limits don't go small enough to allow proper BR management IMO. So I think what one needs to do (lol @ 'one') is to build up solely from freerolls, so you can afford bets on ring games as a pose to just blinds.

(and soz for my jtish man love)

Bad news / Good news

First the bad news. I don't know what happened last night but there was no way I should have been playing poker. I was tired, cranky and after a couple of bad beats went on complete tilt. Started playing games my bankroll couldn't handle and eventually lost the entire stack at Full Tilt.
I was blaming the idiot that kept calling my AA with his T-9 that saw the turn hit 9 and river hit T to give dufus two pair (this was limit). Then I started thinking online is rigged (ya, ya I know). Then I finally looked at my play seriously today and I was a total idiot, there were signs I was beat ina hand but could not/would not fold. I remember saying to myself I needed to stop and go to bed, be fresh for today but I was stubborn.

The Good news. I played two free rolls at Titan and came 14th in one and won $10 and 192nd in the other for a whopping $1.60. I then went to .10/.20 limit with only $5 buy-in and got it up to over $10 - so now my Titan account is at $15.75 !! Played much better today and the limit game was unbelievably loose, on guy would keep calling anything, with no draws, pairs or anything, it was like Christmas. I can't tell you how many times I went to the showdown with top pair but had the better kicker.

I am looking forward to tomorrow's free roll at Titan and the CC's one at Full Tilt.

See you there.

up front bonuses

why start from 0?? Some sites offer upfront money from time to time. Victor chandler offer $10 up front and another $25 when you collect action points which they are generous with. Its part of the i poker network and has quite nice looking skin at vc. This is only available to EU countries i think. There are other sites that have these offers as well. Pitbull poker i think but havent tried it there. I also got upfront bonus at titan a while back..

re: Starting from $0

You just need patience and good BR management, then its not so hard. I'm up to $200 and i started from $0.
Ive done it loads of times, usually cashing out when i reach $200. Ive never made a deposit online, but Ive made over $1000 playing poker.
