Stars now running HU donkaments with static blinds

This is a discussion on Stars now running HU donkaments with static blinds within the online poker forums, in the Poker Rooms section; 1500 starting chips, blinds frozen at 15/30 for the whole duration. Seems pretty cool, they're running from $10-$500 buyin I think....

Wow, pretty cool. Very patient, skilled players could stand to make a killing in those.

Definitely. I wouldn't have the patience for it, but it's cool nonetheless.

re: Stars now running HU donkaments with static blinds poker

part of me wants to say this is cool, but most of me wants to say that this is just yet another case of Stars being too creative, like their heads up SNG's with no preflop raising. I mean, what's next? are they going to have ring games with no blinds or anties? i don't want to be critical if people like them, but it all seems kind of dumb to me.

Variety is always good. Just so long as they don't replace the normal-structure HU SnGs with these.
I personally won't be playing these, though.

Hmmm...too risky that you'd wind up playing for a week to ten days just to finish.

I would think they could use their deep stack / long level ideas here to generate something similar but yet still force some action. Imagine that...starting a HU match with 5K in chips and levels running 20 minutes. This would be huge for heads up. Like I said, may still take a while, but not a week to ten days.
