| Soft Vegas tournaments, where are they? So, I'm headin' to Vegas in March. I'm planning on playing mostly tournaments and I was wondering if anyone had any RECENT tournament experience out there? I don't want to play Bingo, so I'm looking for good structures along with decent fields with soft competition. I've looked at allvegaspoker.com and have gained a lot of information there. I was hoping for some recent info from you guys here. |

| re: Soft Vegas tournaments, where are they? poker Not sure what buy in range you're looking for, but last month I played a $50 tournament at the Hard Rock that had 25-minute blind levels, 5,000 chip starting stacks, and varied levels of competition. I'd recommend that one. |

You will be lucky to get a reduced room rate, and you need to play cash 4-6 hours a day. Also comps come at about $1-$2 and hour when playing cash games. Good luck, and let us know about your experience there when you get back. |

| I hope you much success when going to Vegas. I live in North Carolina and would have to go 13 hours to play at a live casino. I would love to go to Vegas in future. "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!" Have fun and win, win, win. X |

| Im going to Vegas last week of May into June. Playing the 1500 World Series Event #4, anyone else going to be out there or going out for any events. I'd like to know of any other small buy in events out in Vegas during the World Series. |

| re: Soft Vegas tournaments, where are they? poker The sit-and-go's at the Rio are probably your best bet for tournaments. A lot of people in town to play poker, everything will be tougher than normal. Check out http://www.allvegaspoker.com/ for reviews of all the poker rooms and a list of regular tournaments. |

I'll sum it up: Binions. Or any tournament $330+ in the big strip rooms will have good structure. Other than that, you are probably just as well off playing blackjack. |

| You really need to do some checking once you get there. Call or stop by the various poker rooms. The staff in most are usually willing to give you more than just hype. In most cases, the casino can also transfer a call to the poker room, and you can ask whatever it is you want to know. Conventions in town and day of the week can have a big bearing on a turn-out. Regular (the competition) players follow the action. They may be at one casino today and another tomorrow, or even out of town on a 'tour' event. In a big town like Vegas, it changes day to day. Def, as AG, said - check out Binions downtown. It gets better players and doesn't seem to suffer as much from weekend and convention warriors. Last year I played a few low buy-ins at Sahara and it was pretty soft. GL on your trip. |

| re: Soft Vegas tournaments, where are they? poker I have been poring over the tournament reviews on various sites allvegas dot com and pokertournamentformula dot com as well. Lots of information here. A friend of mine is also going to be in Vegas the same weekend as me and has suggested the Sahara for low limit buy in late night like 11pm, so I will do that with her. But the one I am most looking forward to is the Venetian daily at noon with 90 players avg and 30 min levels. Also, I think I will trek out to the Orleans for the 7pm daily one night, too. Other than that I will check out some other rooms like Binions and Hard Rock maybe Planet Hollywood as well. I am totally obsessing as this will be my first trip to Vegas since I began playing Holdem about 4 years ago. I have a schedule of tournaments to enter that I have changed about 4 times by now and I don't leave for another 3 weeks. I'm a definite poker geek! |
