| So what would you do during a 15 month poker blackout? For players in the USA what are your plans for the 15 month blackout. I am sure there will be ways around it and maybe some will actually be playing but for the rest of us law abiding citizens what will you be doing. As much as I would hate to not play online for 15 months I think this would be a great time for me to study a lot and improve my game way more. Read books. Maybe join a video site. Play live a little bit more but not much because to be honest that is why they wanted this bill in the first place so that they could try and save the dying casinos. I will also play in play money games and hope that we will be able to join each other in some games as well. There is no way I am not playing for 15 months that is for sure. So what say you? |

| I would get involved in as many live games as time would allow. Perhaps start a league and host it every other week. I suppose Bodog & company would likely still be options, too. |

| If this legislation does go through, I can see a lot more home games happening. However, in a lot of places home games are illegal, so I suspect nothing less than our typical government, with raids through the roof.... I'll probably just play online anyways. I don't agree with the government telling me what I can and can't do with my money just because they aren't getting their cut. |

| re: So what would you do during a 15 month poker blackout? Really say it ain't so wow I probably will just play free on my phone and read more books. I have a new book on SNGs I will be reading soon anyway. That will be a boomer 15 months. Where is the decision on that or is it in the works. Michelle |

I keep telling myself not to jump the gun, to wait and see what happens, that sort of stuff. Still, I have been giving your original question a lot of thought. Like others have mentioned, I would read and study. I'd also continue my my involvement here in a big way. I'd also try to get out to play live at least once, optimally twice, a month. And I imagine we'll still be able to access play money games and tournies (like the folks in WA) but the very thought of that...sigh. One thing I've been wondering about is whether there is a way we (CardsChat) US members could organzie and play in a private club online. |

As for what I'd do if the legislation passed. I'd hope it'd be a long enough break to cure my addiction to this #%%$$#(*#@ game. It really sucks to be so addicted to something I'm so bad at . |

| Thanks for the link. It seems like some states are just like I thought in that home games without a rake are generally legal, but not necessarily so in all states. Even in those states where its technically illegal though, has anyone ever heard of these laws actually being enforced? Maybe if you invite a cop to your home game you'll be OK? |
