SNG's at FullTilt Does anybody play the $5 SNG's at FullTilt, and if so, what's the standard of play at them like? I've been playing the $1 ones and now have enough(proper BRM) to try the $5 ones. Are there sharks at this level, and still fishes for that matter? Thanks, KD

I've been playing a lot of these lately. Mighty boring but apparently its the game and level I'm most profitable at so I'm grinding it out to get my bankroll back up, and also I wanted to clear that challenge in the academy (I think I can do it one more time). Pretty soft overall to answer your question though sometimes they can take a very long time to play out so patience is a must.

From what I've experienced there are a lot of fish and very few sharks. I've run across sharks from time to time although I admit I play on PS a lot more than FT. I did run across a shark once that did answer why he was there and he said he was doing a personal challenge similar to Chris Fergusen's.

| re: SNG's at FullTilt poker thanks guys, for the replies. well, i dipped my toe in a $5 one the same time as a $2 one and to tell the truth they played very similiar, not much difference at all. | No real difference in level of play lower than $20. Whether your in a $1 or a $10 its the same quality of player just with different amount to play with. Quality really improves around the $20 level, guess this is where the fine line between playing for money and playing recreationally comes in. You wont meet the sharks 'till you hit the $75-$100 levels. The $1 games are full of push or fold muppets, I'm surprised you managed to grind these. If i'm trying to build my bankroll I try the $3 and $5's. |

Yeah, lots of people pushing with speculative hands at the lower level SNG's. People understand the value of their chips a bit more as you go up the ladder, though $5 is probably not high enough to warrant being concerned about being outclassed if you can handle the $1 players.

Didn't quote whoever said that sharks don't start very badly till the 75-100 level, gotta tell you it starts at about the 6 dollar level for turbo's reason being you get these guys that make a mint off of everyone else, they play in 20 games at once and they place in... roughly 80% of them? they might not get 1st as often as they would playing 1 at a time but you can bet they wouldn't be playing in 20 at a time for long if they weren't making a hefty profit I consider that a shark and they start at 6.50's but are definatly in games up to about 20 to 40 dollars as well, really is a wonder to watch but very simple stategy at the same time push or fold for the most part but it works, neways thats my take maybe i'm wrong though

re: SNG's at FullTilt poker forgot to add sorry, but once u point out who the multi table players are, make a note of them even if you don't actually "make a note" double click on them and change the colour of them so they stick out and u know u can play them alot differently, u also know the later in the game it is (the higher the blinds) the more they are looking to push with any two face cards, early on its mainly a/a or k/k and gradually it expands a little more with each blind change hope that helps

Yes, the $2 and the $5 play very similar. I really wish I had played the $5 ones more when I had my money, instead I continued to grind out at the $2 dollar ones, although my BR was good enough for the $5. I guess I was just trying to BR manage correctly, although I tilted it off in the end anyway! I have to say, with that bad beat hand, you may already know this, but never ever slow play on full tilt! They kill you with that. I wouldn't have checked that turn, for my own strategy reasons, and also because I know what full tilt will do to me if I do!

I think in most of the lower stakes SNG's its best just to set back and wait for 3-4 folks to go out and then go at it. It may not work for everyone but pre-flop all ins at usually such a coin flip that you really don't get to use any skill until the first batch of maniacs are out of the tourney.
