Small blind call for the sake of it?

Just wondering, but when you are SB, and you have nothing special, do you call the rest of it (no one has raised) just for the sake of it? To see if you hit?

Or do you just fold and save yourself half of the Big blind?

I would have to say it depends on the image I am trying to portray. If I want to have a tight image then ai may throw away bad hands in the SB, but if I have a looser image I may raise or just call to see what happens. I also play it differently in ring games and tournaments. I am more likely to throw away a bad hand in a tourny than a ring game.

A lot depends on the size of the blinds, the players in the hand, you stack size etc etc, I could go on!

Thing to remember is that you will be the first to act after the flop, so if you are not prepared to play your junk hands if they hit the flop, then dont bother calling

As stated above, it depends, pretty much covers it.
